This study aimed to examine the developmental trends and research focus of the child and family-centered care literature through a bibliometric analysis of articles published between 1990 and 2023. The bibliometric analysis method was used in the study. Data were obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection and Scopus databases. Bibliometric analysis and visualization were conducted using the R language, along with the bibliometrix and openxlsx libraries and the biblioshiny interface. The study included citation, co-occurrence, co-authorship, co-word analysis, and trend topic analysis. Between 1990 and 2023, a total of 1.613 publications related to child and family-centered care were published. Of these publications, 1.598 were original research articles, and the majority (%95) were written in English. The United States was the country with the highest number of publications and the most co-authorship collaborations. Collaborating countries included Canada, Brazil, Iran. Journal of Pediatric Nursing was the most prolific journal (n=149). The author with the highest number of publications on the topic was Shields (n=23). The most cited works related to child and family-centered care were by Gorski (2021), Kerr (2002), and Snow (2009). The institution producing the most publications on the topic was McGill University. In trend topic analysis, key terms such as ‘‘family-centered care’’, ‘‘nursing’’, ‘‘parents’’, ‘‘child’’, and ‘‘child-centered care’’ emerged. Child- and family-centered care research is widespread in developed countries but lacks interdisciplinary collaboration, particularly outside pediatric intensive care units. Future studies should promote co-authorship and international cooperation, providing healthcare professionals and researchers with insights into unexplored areas and opportunities for collaboration.
- MakaleAçık Erişim2025Seasonal Wilcoxon and Scatter Diagram Combination Trend Test
Şan, Murat
Climate change, one of the biggest problems of the last century, is of great concern. It is essential and common to examine the impacts of climate change as a holistic trend for different climatic and hydrological parameters with periodicity. However, considering the periodicity character of monthly, weekly, etc., is particularly important for analyzing and understanding seasonal trends. This is because seasonal trends help manage and regulate irrigation and agricultural activities and water resource systems. This study proposes the seasonal Wilcoxon and scatter diagram combination trend test (SWTT) method as an alternative to the seasonal Mann Kendall (SMK) method. This method is based on the combination Wilcoxon test and scatter diagram (CWTSD) trend test which assesses holistic trends. The data utilized for this study came from three sources: flow records from the Danube River, Romania, temperature records from Oxford, UK, and precipitation records from Kobe, Japan, to compare SWTT and SMK methods. The SWTT method shows very similar trends to the SMK, but the SWTT method takes a step forward because it is based on a graphical method providing a visual overview of seasonal trends. The SWTT can also be used as a regional trend test in the same way that the SMK method is used as a regional trend test by using station data instead of seasons The r-codes of the proposed method and the sample dataset are available at the related link.

İncele - MakaleAçık Erişim2025Unusual Winter Activity of the Ottoman Viper (Montivipera xanthina) in Türkiye
Sahin, Mehmet Kursat; Kurnaz, Muammer; Bayram, Çağatay
The seasonal dynamics of reptile species and their responses to fluctuations in environmental temperature play a crucial role in their overall ecological functions. Reptiles are ectothermic organisms, meaning their activity levels are largely influenced by external temperatures. While most reptile species in temperate regions enter a state of hibernation during colder months, some exceptions may occur due to environmental changes. In this study, an unusual instance of winter activity was documented for Montivipera xanthina (Ottoman viper) in the Karalan-Eskişehir region of Turkey. A single individual was observed on November 2, 2024, at an ambient temperature of 18.6°C. This observation provides significant insights into the winter behaviors of reptiles, which are generally considered inactive during this period. A review of existing literature reveals no prior records of Montivipera xanthina exhibiting activity in November or any other winter months. Therefore, this study presents the first known documentation of winter activity in this species, raising questions about the potential effects of climate change on reptilian seasonal behaviors. Rising temperatures and shifting seasonal patterns may be altering the hibernation strategies of reptiles, leading to extended activity periods. Such changes could have ecological consequences, affecting predator-prey interactions, reproductive cycles, and overall species distributions.

- MakaleAçık Erişim2025Analysis of efficent markets hypothesis in share market with long memory models
Karaaslan, İbrahim; Yılmaz, Safure Günbay
The COVID-19 pandemic has precipitated significant alterations not only in global lifestyles and daily routines but also in investment behaviors. This study aims to test the validity of the efficient markets hypothesis in the indices in Borsa Istanbul during the COVID-19 pandemic and the period when the pandemic effects on the country's economies and individuals continued. The study involves analyzing the stationarity of the return series for these equity indexes using both traditional unit root tests (ADF and PP) and those considering structural breaks (Zivot Andrews). Furthermore, the presence of the EMH was examined through the application of long memory models, employing methods such as Geweke and Porter-Hudak, Modified Log-Periodogram, and Robinson Gaussian Semi-Parametric. The findings reveal that the returns of BIST100, BIST50, BIST30, and BISTTUM indexes are non-stationary, do not exhibit mean reversion following shocks, and lack long memory characteristics. These results suggest that investors' attempts to predict price movements of these indexes may be misleading, indicating that only weak-form efficiency could be argued for these indexes.

- MakaleAçık Erişim2025Investigation of Response of Embedded Pipe in Two-Layered Soil Subjected to Near-Fault and Far-Fault Earthquakes
Öztürk, Kaşif Furkan
The behavior of pipelines during earthquakes depends on many factors such as fault movements, soil types, pipe material properties and connection details. On the other hand, damages in pipeline systems can also be seen due to relatively high peak ground acceleration values caused by wave propagation effects, or liquefaction, surface rupture that may be triggered by earthquakes. In this context, in the scope of the study, the effects of soil-structure interaction phenomenon as well as near-fault and far-fault earthquake effects on the behaviors of the pipe system have been investigated using the developed two-dimensional finite element model. Modal analyses of soil-pipe interaction system have been made for the different soil conditions and dominant mode frequencies of interaction system have been compared with dominant site frequencies obtained using a well-known approach. In addition, parametric analyses have been performed in the time domain using different soil systems and earthquake loadings. The changes in the behaviors of the pipe system have been comparatively examined for different soil conditions and earthquake loadings considered. The obtained results importantly draw attention to the fact that the responses of the pipe system may vary depending on the soil-pipe interaction, near-fault and far-fault earthquake loadings.
- MakaleAçık Erişim2025Exploring the Antioxidant and Neuroprotective Potential of Muscari armeniacum: Phenolic Profiling and Enzyme Inhibition
Topal, Fevzi; Menevseoglu, Ahmed; Topal, Meryem; Yilmaz, Firat
This study aimed to investigate the antioxidant and enzyme inhibitory properties of Muscari armeniacum, a plant native to Türkiye, which is known for its bioactive compound content. Ethanol extracts of Muscari armeniacum were prepared and analyzed using a variety of bioanalytical methods to assess its potential health-promoting properties. The antioxidant capacity was evaluated through Fe³⁺-Fe²⁺ reduction capacity, CUPRAC, DPPH, and ABTS radical scavenging activities. Additionally, the total phenolic and flavonoid contents of the extracts were determined, as these compounds are critical indicators of antioxidant potential. The antioxidant activity of Muscari armeniacum was compared with five standard antioxidants commonly used for benchmarking: BHA, α-tocopherol, BHT, trolox, and ascorbic acid. The extract demonstrated a high flavonoid content (23.24 µg QE/mg extract) and a significant amount of phenolics (14.38 µg GAE/mg extract), with the flavonoid content being particularly noteworthy. In addition to its antioxidant properties, the enzymatic activity assays revealed that the extract significantly inhibited acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and butyrylcholinesterase (BChE) enzymes, which are associated with neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s. The IC₅₀ values were determined to be 54.14 mg/mL (R² = 0.9695) for AChE and 58.73 mg/mL (R² = 0.9609) for BChE, indicating moderate enzyme inhibition. These results suggest that Muscari armeniacum could serve as a valuable source of bioactive compounds with significant antioxidant and enzyme inhibitory activities. Its potential applications in the treatment of oxidative stress-related diseases and neurodegenerative disorders make it a promising candidate for further pharmacological studies. This research underscores the importance of exploring native plants for their medicinal and therapeutic potential, contributing to the development of alternative treatments for challenging health conditions.

İncele - MakaleYalnız künye2025Effect of Chromium Addition on ZA40 Alloy Fabricated by Powder Metallurgy Method
Aydin, Kemal
The aim of this study is to develop and investigate the properties of chromium powder-reinforced metal-metal composites using powder metallurgy methods with a ZA40 alloy matrix. To analyze the effect of varying chromium particle amounts on ZA40-Cr composites, samples with chromium weight percentages of 5%, 10%, and 15% were produced. To ensure uniform distribution of chromium particles, the matrix and composite powders were mixed in ball mills for five hours. These powders were then hot-pressed under an argon gas atmosphere at 500°C and 500 MPa pressure for two hours to form the samples. The samples were evaluated by determining the microstructure, hardness, density, and tensile properties of the ZA40-Cr metal-metal composites with varying chromium content. Porosity and relative density results revealed that increasing Cr content increased porosity while reducing relative density. Hardness measurements showed that the sample with 10% Cr addition exhibited the highest hardness value (182 Brinell). However, increased porosity in the 15% Cr sample caused a decline in hardness. Tensile strength tests indicated that the sample with 10% Cr addition achieved the highest strength (240 MPa). The results demonstrated that the reinforcement of the ZA40 matrix with Cr particles at specific ratios enhanced the mechanical performance, but that excessive Cr content adversely affected the properties due to increased porosity. The optimum Cr content was determined to be 10%, providing the best mechanical properties. This study highlights the potential of ZA40-Cr composites as cost-effective and high-performance materials for engineering applications.
- MakaleAçık Erişim2025Producing Geographical Indication Products from the Farmers' Perspective: Kelkit Dry Beans
Adanacioglu, Hakan; Doğan, Nilgün
A locally sourced, high-quality food supply is seen as both viable and desirable. Geographical indications (GIs) help consumers identify products linked to specific regions, creating intellectual property rights that strengthen rural economies and support sustainable agriculture. Despite this potential, adoption among smallholders remains limited, and its effectiveness depends heavily on farmers’ experiences, perceptions, and motivations. This study examines the production and marketing of GI products from the perspective of farmers, focusing on Kelkit Dry Beans, a geographically indicated product in Türkiye. Primary data were collected in 2021 through face-to-face interviews with 100 dry bean farmers in the Kelkit, Şiran, and Köse districts of Gümüşhane province—50 using GI-registered seeds and 50 not. Findings indicate that farmers adopting GI production expected higher prices based on quality improvements but were unable to achieve these outcomes. Access to alternative markets did not improve, and buyer-related problems persisted. Compared to non-GI farmers, those producing GI beans attached greater importance to factors such as easier marketing, higher expected prices, financial support from unions, and the assurance of long-term demand from contract buyers. Nevertheless, their largely negative experiences - particularly unmet price expectations and limited market access—undermine confidence in GI production and discourage wider adoption. In conclusion, while GIs offer opportunities for rural development, competitiveness, and sustainability, their broader adoption requires addressing farmers’ concerns regarding profitability, reliable markets, and institutional support. Without such improvements, the potential benefits of GIs are unlikely to be fully realized.
- MakaleAçık Erişim2025Investigation of Microbial and Physicochemical Quality of Hamsiköy Rice Pudding: A Comparative Study on Baked and Non-Baked Samples
Yilmaz, Firat; Ordu, Gülsüm
The study examines the microbial and physicochemical properties of Hamsiköy rice pudding, comparing non-baked and baked samples. Microbiological analyses revealed notably higher counts of total aerobic mesophilic bacteria (TAMB), psychrophilic bacteria, and lactic acid bacteria (LAB) in non-baked samples, with TAMB and LAB reaching 5.69 log cfu/g and 6.06 log cfu/g, respectively. Conversely, the baking process led to a decline in microbial load, as evidenced by the lower counts observed in the baked samples. additionally, chemical analyses revealed that the baked samples exhibited higher dry matter, fat, and protein content compared to the non-baked samples. Additionally, the cooked rice pudding samples had lower L* values, indicating a* darker colour. Despite some variations, the chemical properties observed in this study are generally consistent with those reported in previous studies. The study concludes that the baking process enhances the microbiological and physicochemical quality of Hamsiköy rice pudding, thus making it a a product with enhanced safety and quality. Hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF), an indicator of heat treatment, was analyzed as well and was found to be higher in baked samples. Colour parameters (L*, a*, b*) revealed darker appearance in baked samples, aligning with consumer expectations for traditional Hamsiköy rice pudding.

- MakaleAçık Erişim2025The Relationship Between Financial Development and Income Inequality: A Fourier Approach in the Case of Türkiye
Karaaslan, İbrahim
While financial development is recognized as the driving force of economic growth, income inequality is a significant concern regarding social justice and sustainable development. The relationship between these two concepts can directly affect countries' economic policies and social balances. Therefore, the deepening and expansion of financial systems may create injustice in income distribution, but it also has the potential to reduce inequalities when appropriately managed. This study aims to determine the long-run impact of financial development on income inequality in Türkiye. For this purpose, the data set for the variables covers the period 1991-2022 and consists of annual observations. Income inequality (Gini coefficient) is used as the dependent variable, and the financial development index is used as the independent variable. In the study, the stationarity of the variables was tested with the Fourier unit root test (FKPSS) and KPSS unit root test. After the determination that the variables were not stationary at their level values, the Fourier cointegration test was used to test the existence of a long-run relationship between the variables. The study found that there is a cointegration relationship between financial development and income inequality in Türkiye. After establishing the co-integration relationship, our long-run DOLS estimation revealed a statistically significant negative relationship between financial development and income inequality at a 1% confidence level. The key conclusion drawn from this is that increases in financial development lead to reduced income inequality. This result underscores the potential impact of increasing financial development on reducing income inequality, and the importance of efforts and policies.
- MakaleAçık Erişim2025The impact of agricultural value added, urbanisation and renewable energy consumption on environmental quality in MINT countries
Akyol, Mehmet; Bakkaloğlu, Ayşen
In this paper, the effects of agricultural value added, urbanisation and energy consumption on environmental quality in MINT (Mexico, Indonesia, Nigeria, Turkey) countries were analysed for the period between 1992-2019. In the first stage of the study the panel analysis was used then the existence of horizontal cross-section dependence between the variables was tested and then the CIPS test, was used to test the stationarity of the series. In the paper where the existence of homogeneity was tested with the Delta test, the long-run relationship between the series was tested with the Pedroni panel cointegration test. Finally, the effects of agricultural value added, urbanisation and energy consumption on the environment were analysed by fully modified least squares estimator (FMOLS) analysis. According to the FMOLS results, the increase in agricultural value added and urbanisation rate has a negative impact on environmental quality, while renewable energy consumption has a positive impact on environmental quality. The results of the study show that more environmentally friendly policies should be developed and implemented in the agricultural production process in the country group in question, renewable energy investments and consumption should be increased, and the urbanisation rate should be taken under control and environmentally friendly new generation city plans should be put into effect urgently.
