Background: Inspiratory muscle training (IMT) has been suggested to improve respiratory function and physical performance; however, evidence in preadolescent athletes remains limited. This study examined whether adding IMT to circadian rhythm–based running programs would enhance functional and pulmonary outcomes in preadolescent male football players with at least two years of regular football training experience. Methods: Seventy-five boys aged 10–12 years were categorized into morning-, intermediate-, or evening-type groups based on Morningness–Eveningness Scale for Children (MESC) scores, and each chronotype group was assigned to its corresponding running protocol with or without IMT. Over six weeks, participants completed circadian rhythm–based running sessions, and IMT groups performed graded-load IMT. Pre- and post-intervention assessments included agility, six-minute walk test (6MWT), pulmonary function (FVC, FEV₁, FEV₁/FVC), and respiratory muscle strength (MIP, MEP). Results: Agility and 6MWT performance improved most in the morning running + IMT group compared with evening running + IMT and running-only groups (p < 0.001). FVC and FEV₁ increased in both IMT groups, though gains were modest and smaller in the running-only group. Improvements in MIP and MEP did not differ significantly between groups. Conclusion: Combining IMT with morning running produced the greatest improvements in agility and functional performance, while pulmonary gains were moderate and respiratory muscle strength changes were comparable across groups. IMT may provide additional benefit when integrated into chronotype-aligned morning training in preadolescent football players. Trial registration: Effects of Inspiratory Muscle Training Combined with Circadian Rhythm-based Running Programs in Children Football Players, ClinicalTrials.gov: NCT06817486, Date: 27-01-2025.

Aktaş, Gülten
This study investigates the inherited crustal architecture and concealed tectonic boundaries of the Kırşehir Massif, a key component of the Central Anatolian Crystalline Complex (CACC), using satellite-derived potential field datasets. Earth Magnetic Anomaly Grid 2 (EMAG2) magnetic anomalies and World Gravity Map 2012 (WGM2012) Bouguer gravity data were analyzed together with multiple edge-detection filters, including Total Horizontal Gradient (THG), Tilt Angle (TA), Theta Map (TM), and Tilt Angle of Horizontal Derivative Amplitude (TAHG), to enhance structural boundaries and identify subsurface discontinuities prior to geological interpretation. The enhanced magnetic and gravity fields reveal two principal lineament sets trending NW-SE and NE-SW, which coincide with major lithological contacts, fault zones, and the boundaries of the İzmir-Ankara-Erzincan Suture Zone (IAESZ) and Inner Tauride Suture Zone (ITSZ). Quantitative lineament classification based on azimuth and length statistics further confirms three dominant structural orientations (NW-SE, NE-SW, and E-W), reflecting both inherited suture-related structures and younger transtensional deformation. By integrating filtered anomaly gradients with regional geological constraints, this study provides the most detailed potential-field-based structural model of the Kırşehir Block to date and offers new insights into crustal inheritance, lithospheric segmentation, and the multi-phase tectonic evolution of Central Anatolia.
- Derleme MakaleAçık Erişim2026Scopus SJRQ2Physiological responses and adaptive mechanisms of amphibians and reptiles to multiple interacting environmental stressors: an integrative review
Kurnaz, Muammer
This integrative review synthesizes current knowledge on the physiological responses and adaptive mechanisms of amphibians and reptiles to multiple interacting environmental stressors, with particular emphasis on synergistic effects among temperature, hydric stress, disease, and pollution. Given the stronger empirical basis for amphibians in the existing literature, amphibian responses are covered in greater depth, while reptile-specific physiology, immunology, and emerging infectious diseases are explicitly addressed in dedicated sections throughout the review. Critical thermal tolerance analyses reveal that approximately 7.5% of amphibian species will exceed their physiological limits under a 4 °C warming scenario, with tropical lowland species already operating near their CTmax thresholds. Thermal plasticity is limited, with acclimation responses averaging only 0.13 °C increase in CTmax per 1 °C environmental warming—insufficient to track rapid climate change. Water balance regulation shows dramatic interspecific variation, with cutaneous resistance ranging from 0.05 s/cm in aquatic amphibians to >1000 s/cm in desert-adapted reptiles. Synergistic interactions between thermal and hydric stress significantly amplify vulnerability, particularly in dehydration scenarios that reduce critical thermal limits. Chemical pollutants, including heavy metals and pesticides, cause developmental abnormalities (535% increase in malformation frequency), immunosuppression, and endocrine disruption across multiple life stages. Emerging infectious diseases, particularly chytridiomycosis (Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis and B. salamandrivorans) and ranaviruses, drive mass mortality events globally, with co-infections exacerbating population declines. Climate change intensifies disease susceptibility through stress-mediated immunosuppression and altered pathogen dynamics. Adaptive capacity varies markedly among species. While amphibians exhibit strong phenological responses (2-4× greater than other taxa), genetic adaptation potential remains limited by narrow dispersal abilities and habitat fragmentation. Microhabitat buffering can reduce thermal extremes by several degrees but depends critically on habitat structural integrity. This review demonstrates that the pace of anthropogenic change challenges the adaptive capacity of most species, necessitating integrated conservation strategies including microhabitat preservation, climate corridor establishment, pollution mitigation, disease surveillance, and ex-situ conservation programs.

- MakaleAçık Erişim2026Scopus SJRQ2Waste to resource approach: CoFe2O4-modified spent tea waste for magnetic solid-phase extraction of toxic metal ions from water samples
Seker, Serdal; Ozdes, Duygu; Duran, Celal
In this research, within the framework of a waste-to-resource conversion approach, biochar obtained from spent tea waste (STWB), a widely available and cost-free biomass source, was modified with magnetic CoFe2O4 nanoparticles to develop an environmentally friendly adsorbent (CoFe2O4/STWB). The applicability of this material for efficient separation and preconcentration of Cd(ii), Pb(ii), and Ni(ii) ions from mining wastewater, stream water, and wastewater samples collected from an organized industrial zone was systematically investigated using the solid phase extraction (SPE) method. Optimization of the experimental variables was conducted to enhance the extraction performance of the target analyte ions. The fact that the adsorption and desorption equilibrium times occur in less than 1 min demonstrates the rapid and highly efficient extraction performance of the developed adsorbent. Langmuir isotherm model analysis revealed that CoFe2O4/STWB exhibits adsorption capacities of 69.4 mg g−1 for Cd(ii), 185.2 mg g−1 for Pb(ii), and 45.2 mg g−1 for Ni(ii). In contrast, the corresponding adsorption capacities obtained for unmodified STWB were considerably lower, with values of 42.9, 75.8, and 16.8 mg g−1 for Cd(ii), Pb(ii), and Ni(ii), respectively. These results clearly demonstrate that modification with CoFe2O4 significantly enhances the adsorption performance of STWB. Consequently, CoFe2O4-modified spent tea waste can be regarded as an effective, economical, and sustainable adsorbent for trace heavy metal analysis in environmental water samples, owing to its rapid extraction kinetics, high adsorption capacity, and low detection limits. - MakaleAçık Erişim2026Scopus SJRQ4GEOLOGY AND MINERAL CHEMISTRY OF THE ARSLANDEDE PLUTON IN THE EASTERN PONTIDES
Güloğlu, Zikrullah Samet; Kaygusuz, Abdullah
The Middle Eocene Arslandede Pluton, exposed in the Bayburt region on the southern margin of the Eastern Pontides (NE Turkey), has been investigated in terms of its geology and mineral chemistry. The pluton exhibits a NW-SE elongation and covers an area of approximately 7 km². It comprises a broad compositional spectrum ranging from monzodiorite to quartz monzonite. Major rock-forming minerals include plagioclase (An25-48), orthoclase (Or69-88), quartz, amphibole (Mg# = 0.63-0.73), biotite (Mg# = 0.52-0.62), pyroxene (Mg# = 0.70-0.75), and Fe-Ti oxides. Crystallization conditions, estimated via amphibole-plagioclase thermometry and Al-in-hornblende barometry, suggest crystallization temperatures of 737-812 °C and pressures of 0.09-1.61 kbar, corresponding to depths of 0.3-6.0 km. These results indicate that the pluton was emplaced at shallow crustal levels and subsequently solidified under low-pressure conditions. Comparison with other Middle Eocene plutons in the region reveals similar crystallization conditions, suggesting a common tectonic setting during the post-collisional extensional regime in the Eastern Pontides.
- MakaleAçık Erişim2026Scopus SJRQ2Refinement of field-measured velocity profiles via CFD comparison: A case study on single-phase flow in aeration tanks
Yilmaz Çelik, Damla; Vaheddoost, Babak; Aras, Egemen; Şibil, Rahim
The accuracy of field measurements obtained from aeration tanks is of critically important for the validation of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) models. In many cases, the employed validation metrics serve as a fundamental keystone for evaluating both the credibility of experimental data and the accuracy of numerical simulations. In this study, a novel data refinement approach is developed to assess the physical plausibility of velocity measurements collected from a full-scale aeration tank. Unlike conventional validation approaches, the CFD model is utilized as a reference framework within a reverse-approach perspective to evaluate the reliability of field data. Measurement points affected by acoustic noise, surface sludge interference, and turbulence near static structures were identified and excluded through curve-fitting and statistical filtering techniques. Velocity data obtained with the help of an Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) across six lateral and 53 vertical layers were evaluated using the Coefficient of Determination (R2), Relative Error (RE), and Performance Index (PI) metrics. The maximum-elimination combined with polynomial fitting notably enhanced the model accuracy, reducing RE from −123 % to 20 %, increasing R2from 0.054 to 0.96, and improving PI from 2.6 to 1.16. As a result, the refined dataset provided a more consistent and realistic representation of the flow structure and established a robust observational basis for the future calibration.

- MakaleAçık Erişim2026Scopus SJRQ2A Personalized Target Placement Optimization Framework for VR-Based Upper Extremity Rehabilitation
Türe, Hayati; Kalfa, Eren; Aslan, Muhammed Emin; Işık, Buket Özdemir; Topçu, Osman; Özdemir, Erhan; Sarıhan, Köksal
Featured Application: The proposed framework can be directly integrated into existing VR rehabilitation platforms to provide real-time personalized target placement for post-stroke upper extremity therapy, requiring no additional hardware beyond a standard CPU. Virtual reality (VR)-based rehabilitation is an established modality for upper extremity motor recovery; however, existing systems frequently rely on fixed, random, or therapist-tuned target placement that disregards patient-specific motor capacity and population-level priors. This study proposes a cross-patient collaborative swarm intelligence framework that derives zone-based patient profiles from real VR trajectories and augments them with a similarity-weighted cohort prior distilled from clinically similar patients’ successful trajectory clouds and zone-transition graphs. A hybrid Ant Colony Optimization (ACO)–Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm optimizes 12 targets per session across a 27-zone ( (Formula presented.) ) workspace using a five-component fitness function encompassing reachability, zone balance, movement efficiency, heatmap-guided challenge coverage, and swarm-flow consistency. The framework was evaluated retrospectively on a single-center cohort of 36 post-stroke patients and 6373 sessions under a leakage-safe simulation protocol with 70/30 chronological splits; outcomes are model-based proxy success rates derived from each patient’s profile rather than directly observed task success. The hybrid strategy achieved a mean simulated success rate of 85.5% ± 5.5%, a 36.4% relative improvement over random placement (Wilcoxon (Formula presented.), Cohen’s (Formula presented.) ); the leakage-safe split yielded 80.1% on the held-out segment versus 61.1% for random, with no statistically significant train–test gap ( (Formula presented.) ). Ablation confirmed both PSO and ACO are individually necessary ( (Formula presented.) pp, (Formula presented.) ). Total session-start computation is 78 ms on standard CPU hardware. These findings constitute a proof-of-concept that collaborative personalized swarm optimization can substantially outperform heuristic target placement under in silico evaluation; clinical efficacy in terms of standardized motor outcome measures remains to be established in a prospective randomized controlled trial, and the findings should be replicated across centers, task modes, and a larger cohort before generalization.

Koçyiğit, Emine; Koçak, Tevfik; Özbek, Yağmur Demirel
Aim: This study aimed to assess the relationship between Mediterranean-Dietary Approach to Stop Hypertension Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay (MIND) diet score and indicators of glucose control and lipid metabolism in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods: This cross-sectional study involved 459 patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus aged 20-64 years. Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus completed a general information form and anthropometric measures. The MIND diet scores obtained from the MIND diet components form. The biochemical parameters gathered from individuals over the last three months were documented. Results: The mean age and body mass index in the study population were 49.10±10.10 years and 30.62±5.48 kg/m2. Overall, the mean MIND diet score was 8.64±1.75, and 47.10% had high adherence to the MIND diet. A significant difference was found between HbA1c and fasting plasma glucose (FBG) in the MIND groups, as well as a substantial negative association identified among HbA1c, FBG, and MIND scores. Conclusions: This study emphasized the significant incidence of overweight and obesity among Turkish adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Higher adherence to the MIND diet is associated with better glycemic control. Higher MIND diet scores associated with reduced HbA1c and FBG levels. However, no significant associations with the parameters of lipid metabolism were found. By emphasizing nutrient-dense foods and supporting both metabolic and psychological health, the MIND diet may represent a valuable adjunct to conventional diabetes management. Keywords.
- MakaleAçık Erişim2026Scopus SJRQ1Assessment of Atmospheric Acidifying Pollutant Trends and Their Potential Impact on Aquatic Carbon Stability in a Semi-Arid Basin: The Case of Konya
Tona, Aziz Uğur; Demir, Vahdettin
The behavior of the carbon cycle within the Land-Ocean Aquatic Continuum (LOAC) is shaped not only by aquatic processes but also by chemical interactions occurring at the atmosphere–water interface. In particular, the transport of acid rain precursors such as SO2 and NOx to surface waters via deposition can alter the water’s pH balance, thereby affecting Dissolved Inorganic Carbon (DIC) fractions and CO2 emission potential. In this study, air quality measurements from three monitoring stations (Bosna, Karatay, and Meram) in Konya province of Türkiye, along with precipitation and temperature data from a representative meteorological station for the period 2021–2023, were analyzed using the Mann–Kendall Trend Test. Additionally, seasonal pH values of groundwater were examined, and their trends were compared with those of the other variables. The findings reveal striking differences on a station basis. At the Bosna station, while NO (Z = 10.80), NO2 (Z = 9.47), and NOx (Z = 10.04) showed strong increasing trends, O3 decreased significantly (Z = −15.14). At the Karatay station, significant increasing trends were detected for CO (Z = 10.01), PM10 (Z = 8.59), SO2 (Z = 5.55), and NOx (Z = 2.44), whereas O3 exhibited a negative trend (Z = −6.54). At the Meram station, a significant decrease was observed in CO (Z = −11.63), while NO2 showed an increasing trend (Z = 3.03). Analysis of meteorological series indicated no significant trend in precipitation (Z = −0.04), but a distinct increase in temperature (Z = 2.90, p < 0.01). These findings suggest that the increasing NOx load in the Konya atmosphere accelerates O3 consumption and, combined with rising temperatures, creates a potential for change in the carbon chemistry of aquatic systems. The results demonstrate that atmospheric pollutant trends constitute an indirect but significant pressure factor on the aquatic carbon cycle in semi-arid regions and highlight the necessity of integrating atmospheric processes into carbon budget analyses within the scope of LOAC.

Gürmeriç, Hüseyin Ender; Şengül, Mustafa; Basaran, Burhan
This study investigated potentially toxic metal (PTM) levels in cheeses produced in different regions of Türkiye and evaluated the associated dietary exposure and non-carcinogenic health risk. A total of 84 cheese samples were collected from seven geographical regions and classified according to milk source, ripening stage, and production type. After microwave-assisted acid digestion, PTM levels were quantified by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), and exposure and non-carcinogenic risk were evaluated using Estimated Daily Intake (EDI), Target Hazard Quotient (THQ), and Hazard Index (HI). Aluminium (Al), iron (Fe), and zinc (Zn) ranged from <0.00215 to 7.29,<0.00769 to 38.8, and 0.68 to 56.6 mg/kg wet weight, respectively, whereas chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), copper (Cu), selenium (Se), cadmium (Cd), and lead (Pb) ranged from <0.58 to 244, <1.26 to 369, <1.88 to 4067, <0.91 to 1378, <0.06 to 12.3, and <2.19 to 1754 µg/kg wet weight, respectively. Values marked with “<” represent concentrations below the limit of quantification (LOQ). Arsenic (As) was not detected in any sample. Significant differences were observed for selected PTMs according to ripening stage, milk source, production type, and region (p<0.05). The toxicological contribution (TC) values for nutritional PTM exposure were low. THQ and HI values remained below 1, suggesting a low overall non-carcinogenic risk; however, Pb exceedances in some samples indicate the need for continued PTM monitoring.

Baltacı, Duygu Çınar; Büyükbeşe, Tuba
Understanding the behavioral foundations of green transformation within firms requires attention to both leadership processes and the motivational mechanisms that shape employee action. Drawing on transformational leadership theory, the resource-based view, and self-determination theory, this study investigates how green transformational leadership (GTL) relates to pro-environmental behavior (PEB) through the creative and contextual conditions that support intrinsic motivation. Survey data from 1063 employees in the Turkish cosmetics industry were analyzed using structural equation modeling. The results indicate that green creativity (GC) transmits the influence of GTL on PEB, whereas green organizational culture (GOC) strengthens the conditions under which this influence is expressed. These findings clarify how leadership, creativity, and cultural support jointly underpin employees' environmental engagement. The study contributes to research on organizational greening by highlighting the motivational and contextual pathways through which leadership encourages sustainable behavior in emerging market settings.

- MakaleAçık Erişim2026Scopus SJRQ2Post-Seismic Variation in Petrophysical Parameters and Heat Storage at the Tuzla Geothermal Field, Biga Peninsula (NW Anatolia) From Resistivity-Depth Model Using Differential Evolution Algorithm
Büyük, Ersin; Uzel, Bora; Sözbilir, Hasan; Baba, Alper
Electrical resistivity has been shown to offer significant insights into post-seismic changes in geothermal reservoirs; however, its interpretation is complicated by the fact that it is controlled not only by temperature, but also by porosity and clay content. In this study, we used a post-seismic electrical resistivity-depth model from magnetotelluric data to estimate the temperature changes following a seismic swarm in the vicinity of the Tuzla Geothermal Field in the Biga Peninsula of northwestern Anatolia. In the absence of pre-seismic resistivity data for the field, we attribute the characteristic part of the post-seismic model to the seismic swarm. Temperature changes were then evaluated using pre- and post-seismic wellhead temperature observations together with the post-seismic resistivity-depth model. In order to address the relationships between resistivity and petrophysical parameters, the present study combined the established equations for temperature, porosity and clay-related effects. The estimation of petrophysical parameters from combined equations was then conducted using the differential evolution algorithm (DEA), a method that has gained popularity due to its effectiveness in solving non-linear optimization problems. The main contribution of this study lies in the integrated use of a unified petrophysical framework and the DEA to jointly estimate post-seismic changes in temperature, porosity and clay content from the resistivity model. Furthermore, an estimation was made of the reduction in stored heat within the defined reservoir zone. The results indicate that the observed increase in resistivity is primarily associated with a decrease in reservoir temperature, which is consistent with the observed decrease in wellhead temperatures. In addition, changes in clay content and porosity contribute significantly to the resistivity response. The findings demonstrate the efficacy of models of resistivity-depth, obtained following seismic activities, in facilitating the inference of changes in petrophysical parameters and thermal state in geothermal systems.
- MakaleAçık Erişim2026Scopus SJRQ3The impact of high voltage transmission lines (HVTL) on property value: A descriptive initial survey
Marabaoğlu, Seda Nur; Uzun, Bayram
Properties hosting High Voltage Transmission Lines (HVTL) generally have lower values in Turkey. Therefore, owners are compensated for the easement. However, due to the inadequacy of laws and regulations, easement prices (compensation) can be calculated incorrectly. In this study, a descriptive survey was conducted to obtain ideas and information on the solution of problems encountered in determining easement prices and practices in other countries were examined. As a result of the survey, the area covered by the easement on the property and the route of the line were identified as the most important factors that negatively affect property value. It emerges that the diagonal crossing of HVTL over properties is the factor that decreases property value the most (compared to other crossing methods). Additionally, it is observed that the easement price paid to property owners varies mostly according to the per square meter value of the property and secondly according to the area of the property.

- MakaleAçık Erişim2026Scopus SJRQ1Valorization of Moss biomass as a natural porous Matrix for shape-stable phase change material (PCM) composites
Can, Ahmet; Ganguly, Sauradipta; Gencel, Osman; Sarı, Ahmet; Erata, Hüseyin
Phase change materials (PCMs) are used to improve energy efficiency, particularly in building heat storage and passive thermal management applications. In this study, moss biomass ( Calliergonella cuspidata (Hedw.) Loeske) (Ca) was evaluated as a natural porous matrix, and a novel non leachable composite phase change material (PCM) was developed based on n-octadecane (n-OD). The moss biomass was impregnated with 60% n-OD by direct mixing method, and its structural stability was enhanced by the addition of Sodium silicate (SS) at 10% and 30% (by wt%) respectively. The morphological, chemical, and thermal properties of the composites were characterized by SEM, EDS, FTIR, DSC, TGA, XRD, and thermal conductivity analyses. SEM-EDS results showed that the moss biomass (Ca) had high porosity, with the addition of SS resulting in a more compact and homogeneous structure. FTIR analyses exhibited the formation of Si–O–Si bands, indicating successful integration of SS into the matrix. According to DSC analysis, the Ca/n-OD(60%) composite had a melting temperature of 26.1 °C and a melting enthalpy of 153.7 J/g whereas for the SS-added variants, these values were measured as 148.3 J/g (10%) and 144.2 J/g (30%), respectively. The enthalpy losses of only 2–3 J/g after 700 heating-cooling cycles indicated high thermal stability. TGA and XRD analyses showed that the addition of SS increased the thermal resistance of the composites, creating an amorphous network structure. The results indicate that moss-based Ca/n-OD/SS composites, with their compact, leak-free structure, high heat storage capacity, and excellent cyclic stability, hold promise as eco‑friendly materials for subsequent applications in: thermal energy storage for buildings, solar energy systems, and the thermal management of electronic components.

Aktas, Sitki; Durdu, Salih; Bird, Toby W.; Ozcan, Kadriye; Yigitturk, Gurkan; Aktug, Salim Levent; Usta, Metin; Acet, Tuba; Pratt, Andrew
Infections associated with titanium-based medical and dental implants present a major clinical challenge, as they can compromise osseointegration and long-term implant stability. Silver-based nanoparticles (NPs) are widely recognized for their strong antimicrobial properties, and when combined with titanium, they hold significant promise for developing infection-resistant and biocompatible implant surfaces. In this study, Ag/AgO/Ag2O NPs were deposited onto highly porous TiO2 layers formed on the Ti6Al4V alloy by microarc oxidation (MAO), with the aim of simultaneously enhancing antibacterial performance and supporting osteoblast activity. The NPs exhibited a predominant size of 8.7 ± 0.1 nm, with smaller particles oxidized to AgO and Ag2O, and larger particles (∼10 nm) composed of metallic Ag. SEM evaluation revealed that the NPs were homogeneously dispersed across the oxide surfaces without altering the rough and porous morphology of TiO2. The MAO-treated surfaces initially showed hydrophobic behavior (contact angle of 94.1 ± 0.3°), which shifted to hydrophilic after Ag/AgO/Ag2O NP deposition due to increased hydroxyl group formation. Antibacterial assays against Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) revealed a significant enhancement in antibacterial activity, particularly for surfaces with the highest Ag/AgO/Ag2O NP density. Meanwhile, osteoblast cell viability assays demonstrated no reduction in metabolic activity after 72 h, and SEM images confirmed cell adhesion and proliferation. Overall, these findings highlight the potential of Ag/AgO/Ag2O NP-modified TiO2 surfaces as multifunctional coatings that combine infection resistance with osteoblast compatibility, offering promising applications in dental and orthopedic implants.

Polat, Eray; Çelik, Fatih; Arici, Hasan Evrim; Köseoglu, Mehmet Ali
In the dynamic nature of hospitality and tourism (H&T) research, it is increasingly difficult to distinguish highly-cited-papers (HCPs) due to the rapid proliferation of publications. This study employs machine learning techniques to identify the predictors of citation counts in H&T research over both short-term (5-year) and long-term (20-year) periods using HCPs. The analysis integrates a theoretical framework comprising normative theory and social constructivist theory. The findings indicate that international citation, PlumXmetrics, and early citations are the most effective determinants in both periods. Furthermore, while the importance of international citations is evident in both periods, the order of importance of the other two predictors changes. PlumXmetrics are more important in the long-term, while early citations are more important in the short-term. In conclusion, this comprehensive and up-to-date study of citation dynamics provides valuable insights for scholars and other stakeholders interested in enhancing the visibility and influence of H&T literature.

Sadik, Ayşegül Cansu; Karabudak, Filiz; Kula, Muhammed Emin
In this study, the mechanical and dynamic properties of glass/aramid interply hybrid composites reinforced with four different nanoparticles were investigated. Firstly, matrix modification was performed and composite plates were manufactured by hand lay-up technique. Silicon dioxide (SiO2), graphene (GNP), silver (Ag) and cerium oxide (CeO2) nanoparticles were added to the epoxy matrix as reinforcement. With the addition of nanoparticles, the highest tensile (16%) and flexural (67.3%) strengths were observed in Ag reinforced composites. Tensile (16.8%) and flexural (14.4%) strengths decreased with the addition of graphene nanoparticles. Tensile and flexural tests revealed delamination, matrix and fibre rupture in all plate types. As a result of modal analysis, the highest natural frequency values and the lowest damping ratios were determined in the FFBC boundary condition. The addition of nanoparticles improved the mechanical properties of the composites in general.
- MakaleAçık Erişim2026Scopus SJRQ1An Integrated MCDM Framework for Sensitivity of Weighting Methods and Ranking Aggregation: Evidence From Financial Performance Evaluation
Macit, Nazife Şahin
This study proposes an integrated framework for evaluating alternatives in Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) by addressing weight sensitivity and ranking integration. The aim is to examine the effects of different criteria-weighting methods on ranking results and to develop a more consistent decision-making structure by integrating the resulting rankings. Financial performance indicators of Derimod Konfeksiyon A.Ş., listed on Borsa Istanbul (BIST), were evaluated using the Entropy, WENSLO, and MPSI weighting methods, while the MACAD method was employed to rank the alternatives. The analysis was initially conducted for the 2018–2024 period; however, identical rankings obtained across all weighting methods limited the assessment of weight sensitivity. Therefore, the analysis period was extended to 2015–2024, resulting in ranking variations that enabled a more meaningful comparison of the weighting methods. In the final stage, the resulting rankings were integrated into a single consensus ranking using the CURLIA method. The findings indicate that the proposed framework reduces inconsistencies arising from the use of different weighting methods and produces more stable and reliable performance evaluations. Consequently, the study contributes to the MCDM literature by presenting an integrated methodological framework and demonstrating its applicability to financial performance evaluation.

Background: Financial exploitation constitutes a significant psychological vulnerability shaped by cognitive resources, emotional regulation, and financial decision-making behaviors. While financial literacy is widely recognized as a protective factor, limited empirical evidence disentangles the distinct psychological roles of financial knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors in reducing vulnerability to financial exploitation. Methods: This cross-sectional study analyzed survey data from 565 adults in Türkiye. Financial literacy was conceptualized as a multidimensional construct comprising financial knowledge, financial attitude, and financial behavior. Vulnerability to financial exploitation was assessed through three psychosocial indicators: self-confidence, financial anxiety, and financial satisfaction. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was employed to examine the relationships among cognitive, behavioral, and emotional components. Results: Financial knowledge was significantly associated with lower financial anxiety and higher financial satisfaction but showed no direct effect on self-confidence. Financial behavior emerged as the most robust protective factor, significantly enhancing self-confidence and financial satisfaction while substantially reducing financial anxiety. Financial attitude was positively related to financial satisfaction but did not significantly influence anxiety or self-confidence. Financial anxiety demonstrated a strong negative association with both self-confidence and financial satisfaction. Conclusions: Financial exploitation vulnerability is driven by interconnected psychological mechanisms rather than cognitive factors alone. The findings highlight the central role of behavior-based financial competencies and emotional regulation in strengthening financial resilience. Interventions aimed at preventing financial exploitation should prioritize behavioral skill development and psychological risk screening alongside traditional financial education approaches.
