- Kitap BölümüAçık Erişim2019Ore Mineralogical Study of Cerattepe Au-Cu (±Zn) VMS Deposit (Artvin-Turkey)
Akpınar, I.; Çiftçi, E.; Glagolev, S
The Cerattepe mine, one of the volcanogenic massive sulfide deposits in northeastern Turkey, is hosted within the late Cretaceous volcanic, intrusive and sedimentary rocks. Deposit’s main ore body contains high-grade massive copper sulfides and a gold-silver and barium rich oxide zone, characterized by dense alteration stages, is situated on top of it. Replacement, cataclastic, breccia, dissemination, dendritic, concentric growth, colloform, and framboidal textures were identified. Pyrite, sphalerite, marcasite, chalcopyrite, bornite, galena, tennantite-tetrahedrite, gold, covellite, digenite, chalcocite, cuprite and cubanite constitute the mineral paragenesis where quartz, calcite and barite account for the gangue minerals. Limonite, hematite, lepidocrocite, malachite, azurite and jarosite developed in the oxidation zone.

Diker, Ersin; Gencer, Zekiye Tamer
Social media tools which are popular today among young people, especially university students, provide individuals opportunities to create their own profiles and share music, videos and photos related with their interests. These social networks sometimes surpass traditional socialization spheres such as family, school, peer groups and society, and they also cause traditional media means (TV, radio, newspaper, etc.) to lose their effects. These media tools play an important role on the individuals to create their own identities in the socialization process. The identities of this new platform, its connections and the contents produced generate a new generation. Digital networks provide for this new generation an easy and convenient platform to communicate with their family, friends and the others. In addition, they provide maximum pleasure and gratification for these individual users by fulfilling their needs constantly and immediately. In the past, people used to use various mass communication tools like television, radio and movies as well as face-to-face human interaction in order to fulfill these needs and desires. Most of the time, these gratifications could not realize because of the reasons such as inaccessibility, responding, programming and timing. Social networks have become to be preferred as the use of social networks are different from the traditional mass communication tools and the individuals play an active role on sending messages to others. In this respect, individuals, thanks to not only mediative social contact but also accessing other media contents optionally and eagerly, are satisfied immediately with the….
- Kitap BölümüYalnız künye2019The impact of export promotion programs on the technological intensity of export products: The case of Turkey
Mete, Emrullah; Yildiz, Gizem Akbulut
Introduction Exports of high-tech products have gained considerable importance along with globalization and increasing competition in the world economy. Countries have become increasingly in need of exports of high-tech products in order to be competitive and to increase their market shares as well as to protect their current status in markets. In order to overcome the squeeze experienced in world trade, companies and countries increased their research and development expenses to innovate. This process, which manifests itself in producing the current product at a lower cost and/or creating a new product, changed the shares of countries in world trade and hence has become an important part of foreign trade. There is a significant number of studies in the empirical literature indicating that research and development expenses improve innovation which eventually lead to increase in the share of high-tech products in total exports of countries. Since the high-tech product means high value added product at the same time, the increase in exports of high-tech products will also facilitate the economic growth. Thus, it is also important nowadays that countries take the issue of the technology concentration into account and apply it in the scope of their export support programs. It should be taken into consideration by public authorities who design support policies for exporting that the aim of increasing export performance, competitiveness, and market share in foreign trade can be reached through exporting of high-tech products. This study investigates the impact of export….

Şahin, Rıdvan
Interval neutrosophic number (INN), which is descripted by the degree of truth-membership, indeterminacy-membership and falsity-membership of an element, is a powerful information tool with many application areas. The purpose of this study is to develop an extended form of COPRAS (Complex Proportional Assessment) method used for solving the decision making problems in which all the data presented by decision makers is in the form of interval neutrosophic matrix presented by INNs, and the information about criterion weights is partially known or completely unknown. In order to accomplish this goal, a new score function and an accuracy function that consider the decision maker’s risk attitude are defined under a parameter called the risk index to determine the ordering of INNs. Then, based on Maclaurin symmetric mean (MSM) operator that can capture the interrelationships among multi-input arguments, some aggregation operators are defined, such as interval neutrosophic Maclaurin symmetric mean (INMSM) operator and interval neutrosophic weighted Maclaurin symmetric mean (INWMSM) operator. Moreover, some optimization models are established to determine the subjective and objective weights of decision criteria. A numerical problem is solved to demonstrate the effective and feasible structure of the developed method. Then, a sensitive analysis is conducted according to the decision maker’s risk attitude, and the advantages of the developed method are listed. Finally, a comparison analysis is provided to present the relationships among the developed method and existing methods, and some conclusions are given at the end of the study.

Gurocak, Z.; Alemdag, S.; Bostanci, H.T.; Gokceoglu, C.
Kinematic analysis is one of the most used methods to evaluate potential failures such as planar, wedge and toppling in rock slopes. To analyze possible failure types, orientations of slope and discontinuity geometry with the friction angle of the discontinuities planes are used. In this study, kinematical analyses were evaluated to obtain discontinuity controlled potential failure types in the Gumushane Granitoid Complex which is exposed in Gumushane City and the surroundings. Unstable slope orientations for planar, wedge and toppling failure types were determined. The unstable orientations obtained from kinematic analyses were used to create Geographic Information System (GIS) based instability risk maps. The maps generated by the GIS were evaluated using the Fuzzy Interference System (FIS) method to produce instability risk maps for the study area.

The focus of this chapter is to assess green or sustainable development concept because of its increased importance throughout the world. Droughts, environmental degradation, air pollution, greenhouse gas emissions are important problems that the humankind have been facing since the Industrial Revolution. Renewable energy sources can be used to overcome these problems. The general tendency of modern-day societies is to transform traditional production techniques and development models to new renewable energy sources and also move towards to sustainable development path. Therefore, this study tries to explain current status of Norway, China and Turkey in terms of their renewable energy sources and policy implementations.
- Kitap BölümüAçık Erişim2017The role of financial ratios on evaluation of stock values: An application in Bist
Cam, Alper Veli; Tosunoglu, Busra; Gurtay, Enes
Financial ratios obtained from past data are used in estimations of the future, which is financially uncertain, in many studies and analyses. In this regard, financial ratios can be used to determine stock values and therefore the value of the company. The objective of this study is to determine the relationship between the financial ratios of companies and stock values. Accordingly, ten year and quarterly data of16 cement factories whose stocks are traded on the Istanbul Stock Market (BIST) between years 2005-2014 are studied. In the study, current ratio, acid test ratio, liability ratio, accounts receivable turnover rate, inventory turnover rate, market value/book value are used as independent variables. Financial leverage and size of assets are used as control variables and stock value is used as the dependent variable. In accordance with the results of panel data analysis, it is seen that there is a meaningful relationship between acid-test ratio, liability ratio, market value/book value and financial leverage and between stock values.

All marketing definitions focus on the same point: customer orientation and the satisfaction of customer needs. Within this framework, although marketing approach in most of studies primarily deal with institutions and enterprises in profit/private sector, it has become crucial for all kind of organizations including non-profit ones. In recent years, many non-profits have grown larger and continue to improve their growth and effectiveness. In this sense, marketing is touchstone of developing non-profits. This part hopes to create a perspective to marketing definition to understand the relevance of marketing to non-profit organizations and how marketing strategies should be adapted to them for success.
- Kitap BölümüAçık Erişim2016The effects of an accounting information system on the institutionalisation level of enterprises
Cam, Handan; Tosunoglu, Busra
An accounting information system (AIS) is a system of collecting, storing, and processing financial and accounting data that is used by decision makers. An accounting information system is generally a computer-based method for tracking accounting activity in conjunction with information technology resources. The purpose of this study is to determine the effects of an accounting information system on the institutionalisation level of enterprises. In this regard, a model has been developed and tested. Five hypotheses were constituted to test the model and a questionnaire was conducted to 150 firms that are operating in small and medium sized enterprises in Trabzon. The structural equation model was used to test the hypotheses. According to findings of the analysis it may be seen that an interdepartmental information system, compliance with an accounting information system, and an accounting information system activity have an effect on the institutionalisation level of enterprises.
