Bayrakdaroğlu, Serdar; Sever, Mehmet Onur; Şenel, Ebru; Koç, Mine
The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between respiratory parameters and competition degrees of competitive swimmers between the ages of 12 and 15. For this purpose, 12 amateur swimmers, 7 females and 5 males, aged between 12-15 years, participating in competitions on behalf of Gümüşhane Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports and training at least five days a week, participated voluntarily (n=12, age: 12.33±0.98 years). , height=1.51±0.14 cm, body weight=42.58±8.63 kg). Spearman Correlation analysis was used to examine the relationship between the measurement results of the athletes and their swimming performance in the evaluation of the data. It was determined that there was no statistically significant relationship (p>0.05) between the vital capacity (VC) and maximal voluntary ventilation (MVV) values of the athletes and 50 meters-100 meters free swimming degrees. On the other hand, there was a negative and aboveaverage significant correlation between forced vital capacity (FVC) values and 50 m swimming performance (r=-.699; p<0.05). In the relationship between FVC values and 100 meters freestyle swimming degrees, there was no significant difference (r = --.636; p <0.05) both negative and above the middle level. As a result, it was observed that the forced vital capacity (FVC) value, which is one of the respiratory parameters of the swimming athletes in the development group, is related to the competition degrees and that the development of respiratory parameters is important in terms of increasing the performance of the athletes.

Can, İbrahim; Bayrakdaroğlu, Serdar
The purpose of this study was to investigate whether the relationship between the upper-body strength characteristic withvelocity and power parameters during the bench throw exercise shows a significant difference according to sports branches. Inaccordance with this purpose; a total of 52 athletes (age: 22,8±3,61 years; height: 183,3±10,8 cm; weight: 80,1±13,4 kg) including13 volleyball players (age: 20,3±1,25 years; height: 194,7±7,51 cm; weight: 87,8±7,22 kg) and 13 handball players (age: 25,4±3,86years; height: 187,5±8,33 cm; weight: 90,9±14,8 kg) competed in Turkey 1. League together with 13 national martial players (age:25,0±3,24 years; height: 175,1±6,91 cm; weight: 70,0±7,70 kg) and 13 arm wrestling players (age: 20,6±1,93 years; height:175,7±5,39 cm; weight: 71,9±7,92 kg) participated as voluntarily. To determine the velocity and power parameters, a benchthrow (BT) movement was performed using an external load of 30 % of the participants' body weight and mean propulsivevelocity (MPV), peak velocity (PV), mean propulsive power (MPP) and peak power (PP) by the help of an isoinertial velocitytransducer (T-Force dynamic measurement system). Shapiro-Wilk normality test, descriptive statistics and Spearmancorrelation analysis methods were used to evaluate the data. According to the results of the analysis, it was found that therewas a statistically significant relationship between the upper-body strenght characteristics with together velocity and powerparameters during the BT movement and this relationship shows a statistically significant difference compared to the sportsbranches. While both the volleyball players and the handball players have a high and positive relationship between the upperbody strength characteristics with together velocity and power values during the BT movement (p<0.05); it was found thatmartial players have only a significant relationship with PV and MPP values. On the other hand, it was determined that armwrestling players don’t have any statistically significant relationship between both strength and velocity values andcharacteristic of upper-body strength (p>0.05). As a results, it can be asserted that sports branch is an important factor for therelationship between the upper-body strength characteristics with together velocity and power parameters during the benchthrow movement.

Bayrakdaroğlu, Yeşim; Eren, Kübra
In this study, the decision making styles of the taekwondo referees exposed to mobbing and the levels of mobbing were examined based on some variables. The sample of the study consisted of 187 referees who worked in various provinces in Turkey and participated in the development seminars for referees andcoaches organized by Turkey Taekwondo Federation in 2019-2020. The seminar was conducted on 19-27 December 2019 in Antalya, in 3 groups (turkiyetaekwondofed.gov.tr) In addition to the personal information form prepared by the researcher, the “Scale for Indoor Mobbing directed to Sports Referees”, “Melbourne Decision Making Questionnaire I-II” were used in the study. The analysis of the data obtained in the research was examined by Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). Frequency, percent, std.deviation, mean calculations, T-test and one-way variance analysis (ANOVA), Tukey test, and Pearson correlation analysis were used. Cronbach's Alpha coefficient was determined as 846 for decision-making scale and 883 for the mobbing scale. The study results revealedvarious levels of significance for variables were interpreted. In addition, it was determined that there were positive and significant relationships between the sub-dimension of decision making styles and mobbing (r=0.33, p<0.01) and mobbing from the sports circle (r=0.22, p, 0.01). Therefore, it can be said that mobbing perceived from the social circle did not have a significant effect on decision making styles of taekwondo referees. As a result, it can be said that the mobbing variable poses asignificant risk to taekwondo referees' sub-dimension of decision making styles and said risk should be taken into consideration.
- MakaleAçık Erişim2020Examination of Winter Sports Participation Constraints of the Youth: The Case of Gümüşhane University Students
Evren, Savaş
Winter tourism has made a rapid development in terms of both supply and demand, especially since the 1960s. The current reports reveal that there is a deceleration in the growth rate of winter tourism market in last 15 years and that participation rate of people to winter sports got slower. From this viewpoint, it is aimed to determine the winter sports participation constraints of young people who constitute the large part of the winter tourism market. In this context, a questionnaire was applied to Gümüşhane University students and a sample of 457 people was reached. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis, T-test, ANOVA and multiple linear regression analysis. According to the results, most important constraint was “financial insufficiency” for the youth. Following “financial insufficiency” related constraints, "lack of partner", "finding unattractive", "fear-danger" and "social anxiety" come. Significant differences were found between people in different income, gender, and recreational preferences groups in terms of various constraints. In addition, it is found that factors of “fear-danger” and “finding unattractive” have significant negative effect on the interest levels of participants for winter sports.

İncele - MakaleYalnız künye2014The investigation of relationships among sprint and jump performance with velocity parameters during propulsive phase of full back squat exercise
Can, İbrahim; Cihan, Hamit; Ari, Erdal
The basic purpose of this study was to investigate of the relationships with sprint and jump performance of velocity parameters during propulsive phase of full back squat exercise and to determine which variable was associated with which loading loading. For this purpose, thirty-two men amateur athletes (age: 20.4 ± 1.98 years; height: 179.3 ± 7.23 cm; weight: 73.5 ± 9.85 kg) who actively involved in sports and have a basic level of force participated in voluntarily to this study. In the study, one repetition maximum (1RM) full squat (SQ) strength test, vertical jump test, 5 meters and 30 meters sprint test were applied. The descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation analysis was used for statistical evaluation of datas. According to analysis results; it was obtained that mean velocity (MV), mean propulsive velocity (MPV) and peak velocity (PV) values during propulsive phase of full back squat exercise performed in different loads were decreased in parallel with load increase. In addition, it was obtained that there was no statistically a significant relationships between 5 meters sprint times and vertical jump performance with MV, MPV and PV values during propulsive phase of full back SQ exercise performed at different loads of 1RM (p > 0.05). Conversely, it was obtained that there was a mean level, negative and statistically significant relationship between 30 meters sprint times with MV during propulsive phase of full back SQ movement performed at 20 % and % 90 of 1RM load values (r = - .412; r = - .399, p < 0.05, respectively) and PV values obtained at 40 % and 60 % of 1RM load values (r = - .402; r = - .370, p < 0.05, respectively). Consequently, it was suggested that movement velocity is not an important component for performance parameters as 5 meter sprint and jumping height.
Can, İbrahim; Cihan, Hamit

Can, İbrahim; Seyis, Mustafa; Cihan, Hamit
The purpose of this study was to compare aerobic capasities and recovery times according to playing positions of elite male football players. For this reason, twenty-four professional football players who played in Trabzonspor participated in voluntarily to this study. According to playing positions, players were divided to four different groups as three goalkeepers (age: 26,0 ± 2,64 years; height: 188,8 ± 2,88 cm; weight: 79,6 ± 5,13 kg), eight defencive players (age: 27,1 ± 2,69 years; height: 183,5 ± 5,12 cm; weight: 76,3 ± 3,06 kg), eight midfield players (age: 25,8 ± 1,64 years; height: 178,5 ± 8,79 cm; weight: 75 ± 7,63 kg) and five forward players (age: 28,0 ± 1,87 years; height: 181,8 ± 4,81 cm; weight: 73,4 ± 3,78 kg). The football players applied Yo-Yo Intermittent Recovery Level-1 (Yo-Yo IR1) which was a field test and recovery times, maximal oxygen consumption, maximal heart rates, and covered distances of players values were examinated according to positions of players. Kruskal Wallis-H test was used to determine significant difference between groups. According to test results, there is a significant difference (p < 0.05) between recovery times, maximal oxygen exhaustion values, maximal heart beating numbers, and covered distances according to playing positions of male football players is statistically obtained. The differences between groups was determined with Mann Whitney-U analyze technique. According to test results, it was found that the covered distances (1987,5 ± 260,3m) and maximal oxygen consumption values (53,0 ± 2,17 ml/kg/dk) of midfield players was greater than players who played in other positions. The forward players had better recovery time values (3,38 ± 0,6 dk) than players who played in other positions while goalkeepers had lower maximal heart rate (179,3 ± 8,50 atım/dk) than players who played in other positions. As conclusion, it was statistically determined that aerobic power performance and recovery times of elite male football player was differentiated according to position of football players.

İncele - MakaleYalnız künye2012The effect on bilateral deficit of maximal strength training performed in extansion position of knee
Can, İbrahim; Kale, Rasim; Songün, Yeşim; Cihan, Hamit
The purpose of this study was to determine maximal isometric strength with bilateral and unilateral muscle contractions and investigate maximal strength training whether or not influenced on this bilateral deficit. For this reason, the subjects of this study were 34 amateur soccer player (age = 17 ± 2.51 years) were divided into three groups as bilateral training group (n=14), unilateral training group (n=10) and control group (n=10). The unilateral training group performed maximal knee extansion exercise using each leg unilaterally. The bilateral leg training group was performed to knee extansion exercise using simultaneously bilateral legs. The control group weren't trained. The groups in training continued these resistance exercise as 1 hour a day, 3 days a week, for 12 weeks. The improvement in strength brought by training was compared as bilateral training group and unilateral training group. Bilateral deficit also was calculated between two groups. The strength in the trained limbs during training was mensured in 4th weak (after four weeks) and 12th weak (after twelve weeks). It was determined that maximal isometric strength of two training groups was increased significiantly by strength trainings. There wasn't any significiant difference at strength increase for first four weeks of training period. It was determined that strength was increased significiantly for final weeks of training period. The other important consequence of this study was determined that maximal strength training had significiant effect on bilateral deficit. As a consequence of this study, maximal strength trainings which involved bilateral muscle contractions at knee extansion position were effective for reducing of bilateral deficit
