Özet

This article examines the cultural and institutional dimensions of Belarus–Iran relations from the 1990s to the present through a cultural sociology perspective. It explores how social institutions—including family, education, science and technology, media, diplomacy, religion, and economic frameworks—have shaped and been shaped by this bilateral relationship. The research situates Belarus–Iran ties within frameworks of cultural diplomacy, soft power, and constructivist international relations. The findings indicate that shared values (for example, traditional family norms and sovereignty), mutual educational and scientific exchanges, coordinated media narratives, religious and cultural interactions, and sanctions-driven economic collaboration have together fostered a unique cross-cultural partnership. The analysis highlights how cultural diplomacy and institutional cooperation underpin the alliance, offering insights into how two sanctioned, ideologically aligned states leverage culture and institutions to reinforce their strategic partnership.
