- BildiriYalnız künye2014Determination of ground predominant period and H/V ratio by single station microtremor records in Trabzon (Arsin)
Akin, Ö.; Sayil, N.; Beker, Y.
Microtremor method used for engineering seismology is very important for determining of dynamic ground parameters and its variations. Method based on frequency of horizontal and vertical component microtremor records provides to quick and economical estimation of dynamic ground parameters. The most important advantage of Nakamura method defined as single station method does not require reference point and it can be applied easily in the area with low seismic density and without base rock. In this study, Nakamura (H/V) spectral ratio method has been applied to microtremor records taken with CMG-6TD three component broad band velocity seismometers at 116 points with the aim of determining ground predominant period and magnification parameters in the study area. Maps of predominant period and H/V ratio of the study area are created by derived values.

Thirdly, open and closed loop control forms are modeled. From these models, current, thrust force, and speed graphs were obtained. It is seen on the graphs, the motor’s closed loop PID control at scalar control method provide positive results.
- BildiriYalnız künye2014Spatial and temporal analysis of current seismic quiescence in the east anatolian fault zone, Eastern Part of Turkey
Öztürk, S.; Sariçiçek, I.
In the scope of this study, an evaluation of recent seismic quiescence in the East Anatolian Fault Zone, eastern part of Turkey, is made by using the standard deviate Z-value. For this purpose, a statistical assessment of the spatial and temporal variations of the seismicity rate changes in the beginning of 2013is performed by using ZMAP software package. Results show that four areas with an apparently seismic quiescence may be important in the East Anatolian Fault Zone in the beginning of 2013. These anomalies are observed centered at 39.48°N-39.712°E (between Ovacik and Pülümür, Tunceli), the second one is found centered at 39.06°N-40.297°E (including Karakoçan, Sancak-Uzunpinar and Göynük fault zones), the third one is found centered at 38.55°N-38.763°E (between Malatya fault and EAFZ, north of Pötürge, Malatya) and the last one is found centered as 39.95°N-35.647°E (between Ceyhan-Yumurtalik-Karatas, Adana). The beginnings of these seismic quiescence anomalies are recently observed and nearly started in the beginning of 2007.For this reason, special attention should be given to these regions where the seismic quiescence is observed.

Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) that give high resolution image and no damage to the researched surface, holds an important place in the use of near surface shallow researches. In this study; it is aim to investigate the fracture-crack system, the stratigraphy and the deterioration of the walls of Zigana Tunnel which is located at the way Trabzon-Gümüşhane in order to evaluate the existence of risk area leaking water out and structure contents. Furthermore, in addition to Zigana tunnel, the concrete quality of the Torul tunnel which has built recently was investigated. During examinations, GPR data were collected along totally 20 profiles at the entrance of the both sides of tunnels by using 500 MHz and 800 MHz shielded antennas. After applying data processing stages to the collected data, 2D and 3D images were acquired and interpreted.

Kose, Oguz; Karas, Ismail Rakip
Robots are commonly used and developed for different purposes in various areas such as research, educational, commercial, and industrial fields, also in emergency situations and space missions in today’s modern world. Robots are the machines that increasingly gain the importance with each passing day by the development of micro-electronics and micro-mechanics industry. To define a machine as a robot, it needs to have the sensors to check its environment; the mechanisms to evaluate the information received from these sensors and to transfer to the processing units. In this study, an intelligent controlled line follower robot was developed. Proportional-integral-derivative (PID) method was used for controlling. According to the information from the sensors, the method applied to the engines as Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). Online Fez Panda II embedded system board was used as the control element. This board has a 2-bit ARM 7 (Acorn RISC Machine) processor and it is suitable to.Net Micro Framework Technology. The system software was written with C# programming language in Visual Studio 2010 platform. The robot was tested on 3D indoor network, and has potential to be used for evacuation process on extraordinary sitautions in buildings. Another usage areas of this robot are factories and production lines. 3D network analyses and navigation applications could also be performed using the lines on the ground of this kind of environment.

- BildiriYalnız künye2014Approximation of the inverse elliptic problem with mixed boundary value conditions
Ashyralyyev, Charyyar; Dedeturk, Mutlu; Ashyralyev, A; Malkowsky, E
The inverse problem for the multidimensional elliptic equation with Neumann-Dirichlet conditions are presented. For the approximate solution of this inverse problem the first and second order of accuracy in t and in space variables difference schemes are constructed. The stability, almost coercive stability and coercive stability estimates for the solution of these difference schemes are obtained. The algorithm for approximate solution is tested in a two-dimensional inverse problem.
- BildiriYalnız künye2014A new approach stereo based palmprint extraction in unrestricted postures
Bingol, Ozkan; Ekinci, Murat; Gokdogan, Ahmet
Regarding the palms recognition system studies, despite achieving a high success rate, hygiene problems in systems with contact and problems arising from changes in the alignment of the hand pose in non-contact ones have been encountered. To resolve these problems, 3D palmprint recognition systems have been developed, however these systems have not had the opportunity to spread due to expensive technologies used as well as low screening rates. In this study, to calculate the position and orientation of a palm in 3D space, a stereo camera system is proposed, with the help of these values by adjusting the geometric image of the palm is converted to a 2D environment. From these images, patterns used for recognition are extracted by using Active Appearance Models. Thus a non-contact system has been achieved, but also patterns that can be used by powerful 2D recognition systems have also been produced.

- BildiriAçık Erişim2013The link between unemployment rate and real output in Eurozone: A panel error correction approach
Dogru, Bulent; Ozsahin, M
In this paper we investigate the relationship between economic growth andunemployment in Eurozone through the implementation of Okun's Law using annual panel dataset covering the time period 2000-2012. Panel error correction and panel co-integration methods are used to test the linkage between unemployment and growth rate. We also investigate unemployment hysteresis using several non-stationary panel unit root techniques for unemployment hysteresis in all Euroregions. Findings suggest that Okun's Law is valid but coefficients are less thanOkun's coefficient for USA and other empirical studies on developed countries. Also we find that the relationship between economic growth rate and unemployment rate vary between countries.
