Özet

The Holy Qur an with its message and principles is universal andis a book of divine orders. Its everlasting message includes wholepeople without any distinction of race and nationality. In this context, non-Arab nations, such as Turks and Persians after acceptingIslam wanted to read, to understand and to embrace the Qur an, andto fulfill its orders completely. Naturally, these people didn t knowArabic, -the language of the Qur an, in order to read and to understandthe Qur an completely. Ensuring to understand God s orders for thesepeople only became possible by letting the Qur an to be translated intoother languages. After embracing Islam, in order to perform this sacred goal, Turks translated the Qur an into their language many timesthroughout history. In this study, we aim to overview the translationprocess of the Qur an into Turkish throughout history.
