Cin, Aynur; Coşar, Dilan Aktepe; Demirağ, Hatice
Aim This study aims to investigate the levels of artificial intelligence-related anxiety among nurses, their attitudes towards the use of AI in clinical settings, their ability to maintain humanistic approaches in nursing care, and the interrelationships among these variables. Design This study was designed as a descriptive and cross-sectional pilot study. Method The sample of the descriptive study consisted of 267 nurses working in X and Y hospitals in Gümüşhane province. The data of the research was collected between December 2023 and May 2024 using the “Nurse Introduction Form”, “Artificial Intelligence Anxiety Scale”, “General Attitude Scale towards Artificial Intelligence” and “Humanistic Practice Ability of Nursing”. Results Total “Artificial Intelligence Anxiety Scale” mean scores were found to be higher in nurses who were women, and had more than five years of working experience ( p < 0.05). It was determined that the total “General Attitude Scale Towards Artificial Intelligence” score averages of nurses working in surgical clinics were higher than those working in pediatric clinics ( p < 0.05). Positive “General Attitude Scale Towards Artificial Intelligence” mean scores were higher in nurses who had a postgraduate degree, worked in a surgical clinic, and had five years or less experience ( p < 0.05). Again, the total mean of the “ Humanistic Practice Ability of Nursing “ was higher in nurses who had a bachelor's degree or less, and worked in management and surgery clinics ( p < 0.05). Conclusion It was found that nurses' artificial intelligence anxiety, general attitudes towards artificial intelligence, and ability to act humanistally varied according to some sociodemographic characteristics.

Introduction: Patients do not feel competent in managing their post-heart surgery processes. They need access to the right information to manage their symptoms. A mobile app is the right tool for this process, with its accessibility and reminder features at any time. We investigated the effects of 4-week mobile app training on respiratory functions and maintenance of drug compliance in patients after heart surgery. Material and methods: This paper reported the findings of an experimental study, which recruited a total of 120 participants of whom all underwent heart surgery. The following outcomes were measured: TriFlo results, the Morisky Questionnaire - self-reported measure of adherence, and results of the Symptom Interpretation Questionnaire. Results: All groups showed a significant difference in Symptom Interpretation Scale subscales after using the mobile app. When the results of the research are evaluated, it can be said that there is a need for nurses to produce new-generation technological equipment to meet the needs of new products to be used in the field of health. Conclusions: Individuals can solve their post-operative symptom management problems with a mobile app. The use of a mobile app positively contributes to the management of the 2 most common symptoms after heart surgery. Mobile apps are used in many disease processes in the world. The results of these studies contribute to the limited information presenting results regarding drug compliance and lung capacity in patients with a bypass between mobile apps.
AtıfWoS3İncele - MakaleAçık Erişim2022Scopus SJRQ1The cultural practice of decluttering as household work and its potentials for sustainable consumption
Muster, Viola; Iran, Samira; Muensch, Marlene
Popular literature and guidebooks on minimalism and decluttering have brought the idea of less is more into the mainstream. Although decluttering constitutes a central household chore in consumer societies, it is rarely communicated as work within the current popular minimalism discourse, but rather as an expression of self-care. Whether and to what extent this lifestyle minimalism can contribute to sustainable consumption has - with a few exceptions - not yet been studied in detail. In this article, decluttering is first conceptualized in between housework and self-care. Based on this work, potentials and limits for the promotion of sustainable consumption are outlined. Finally, initial insights from an ongoing citizen science project on decluttering in Germany are presented. The qualitative results from two workshops and two reflection exercises show that the main motivation for participants is the dissatisfaction with their multitude of possessions and the desire for fewer material possessions in the future. The decision to declutter can be understood as a window of opportunity in which individuals are willing to reflect on and realign their possessions and desires for goods. Thus, we argue that decluttering can be a relevant starting point for changing consumption behavior toward (more) sustainable consumption. At the same time, it remains unclear whether and to what extent the participants' willingness to change regarding possessions and consumption actually leads to more sustainable consumption behavior after decluttering. It is even conceivable that the newly gained space will stimulate additional consumption. Decluttering would then rather function as a catalyst for further consumption (and would have no or rather a negative contribution to sustainability goals). Further research is needed to shed light on this.
