Özet

Automobiles were considered to be luxury\rwhen they first emerged. However, they are regarded\ras one of the most basic means of transportation\rtoday. The historical background of the\rautomotive industry dates back to the end of the\r19th century and the beginning of the 20th century\rand this industry has been based on fossil fuel\rconsumption including oil and oil derivatives for\rmany years. However, in line with the technological\rdevelopments, there is an increase in the utilization\rof full-electric and hybrid vehicles, which\rare described as environmentally friendly automobiles,\rand it is projected that these automobiles\rwill substitute traditional (fossil fuel) automobiles\rin the near future. Transition to full-electric and\r(or) hybrid vehicles has a great significance in\rterms of protecting nature, ensuring energy security\rdue to depleted oil reserves and removing\rdependence on oil. Depending on this, they are\rintensively supported by the governments of both\rdeveloped and developing countries via tax and\rnon-tax instruments. This study aims to analyze\rthe incentives implemented for full-electric and\rhybrid vehicles across the world and Turkey. The\rbasic result acquired from the study is that as well\ras the developments in automotive technology,\rpublic incentive policies will have a great significance\ron environmentally friendly automobiles to\rbecome a crucial means of transportation in the\rnear future.
