Özet

The aviation sector holds a strategic position due to its contributions to global economic growth and transport infrastructure, but it is also the subject of intense debate in the context of sustainability due to its environmental impact. This study was conducted to examine the role of green approaches and environmental management in aviation management. Strategies for reducing carbon emissions, energy efficiency, waste management and renewable energy use are particularly emphasised. The study highlights that the adoption of sustainable practices by airlines and airport management is critical not only for environmental benefits but also for corporate reputation, competitive advantage and customer satisfaction. The feasibility of implementing green approaches as a strategic management model in aviation is discussed, and an exemplary model is proposed. At the same time, the necessity of an environmentally friendly transformation in the sector is emphasised.
