Hatay Büyükşehir Belediyesi itfaiye çalışanlarının tükenmişlik düzeylerinin belirlenmesi üzerine bir çalışma

Her yıl dünyanın birçok yerinde farklı zamanlarda ve türlerde afetler meydana gelmektedir. Bu afetlerle mücadele edenler arasında yer alan itfaiye çalışanları, tükenmişlik sendromu gibi birçok olumsuz durumla karşı karşıya kalmaktadırlar. Tükenmişlik sendromu, çalışanın motivasyon ve istek kaybı yaşamasına, veriminin düşmesine neden olabilmektedir. Görevleri arasında hayat kurtarmak olan itfaiye çalışanlarının tükenmişlik sendromu yaşama ihtimalinin olması bu çalışmanın gerekliliğini ortaya çıkarmıştır. Bu çalışmadaki amaç, Hatay İtfaiyesinde çalışan personellerin tükenmişlik düzeylerini belirlemek, ortaya çıkan sorunlara ve sonuçlara göre değerlendirmeler yaparak çözüm önerileri sunmaktır. Araştırmanın verileri 1992 yılında Canan Ergin'in "Doktor ve Hemşirelerde Tükenmişlik ve Maslach Tükenmişlik Ölçeğinin Uyarlanması" adlı çalışmasında geliştirdiği "Maslach Tükenmişlik Ölçeği" kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Analizlerden elde edilen bulguların neticesinde tükenmişlik düzeyi puan ortalamalarının düşük seviyede olduğu görülmüştür. İtfaiye çalışanlarının mesleklerinden ötürü tükenmişlik ile ilgili bilgi sahibi olmaları, kurumun bu yönde psikolojik destek ve uygun çalışma ortamı sağlamalarının yararlı olacağı düşünülmektedir.

Disasters of different times and types occur in many parts of the world every year. Firefighters, who are among the employees struggling with these disasters, face many negative situations such as burnout syndrome. Burnout syndrome can cause the employee to lose motivation and desire and decrease productivity. The fact that firefighters, whose duty is to save lives, are at possibility of experiencing burnout syndrome, revealed the necessity of the study. The aim of this study is to determine the burnout levels of the personnel working in Hatay Fire Department, to offer solutions by making evaluations according to the problems and results. The data of the study were collected by using the "Maslach Burnout Scale" form developed by Canan Ergin in her study titled "Burnout in Doctors and Nurses and Adaptation of the Maslach Burnout Scale" in 1992. As a result of the findings obtained from the analyzes, it was seen that the average score of the burnout level was low. It is thought that it would be beneficial for firefighters to have information about burnout due to their profession and for the institution to provide psychological support and a suitable working environment in this regard.
