Özet

This study covers "West Transition Zone Durum Wheat Breeding" program of Eskişehir Anatolian Agricultural Research Institute during 2004-05 growing season. The aims of this study were to develop durum wheat varieties adapted to different locations of the transition zones and Central Anatolian, drought-resistant, high-quality and well responded to favorable conditions. . In the study, besides breeding materials developed by the institute, international sources (IWWIP materials; 17 of PYTDW lines and 10 of EDUYT lines were also used as well. In advanced lines trials, the augmented was used for observation nursery (F6) and the preliminary-yield trial (F7); and the triple-lattice was used for yield trials (F8); and the randomized block design was used for location yield trials (F9). 28 in 50 lines within observation nurseries, 31 in 160 with in preliminaryyield trial and 19 in 64 with in yield trials and 5 in 20 with in location yield trials were transferred to the next level of improvement according to grain yields and quality values
