Özet
Antibiotics were used in animal feeding in order to keep under control the broiler growth factor and pathogen microorganisms in gastrointestinal system. However, alternative products that can show the same effect have been sought after the prohibition of antibiotics in 2006. As one of such primary alternative products, people started to use herbal extracts which do not have any side effect on human health, leave no residue on animal products and are preferred to prevent bacteria from developing resistance to antibiotics. This review focuses on general characteristics of herbal extracts and their areas of use in broiler feeding
