The Examination of Occupational Health and Safety Conditions of Staff Working in The Chest Diseases Hospital

Occupational health and safety; these are all efforts\rmade to ensure that the health and safety of employees\ris not adversely affected. Workplaces serving in the\rhealth sector often contain elements that may\radversely affect the health and safety of employees.\rFor this reason, it is important to evaluate the\rconditions of workplaces serving in the health sector\rin terms of health and safety.\rIn this study, it was aimed to determine the\roccupational health and safety status of employees in\ra public health institution serving in Giresun province.\r127 employees from various branches constituted the\rsample of the study in the health institution where 190\rpeople work.\r"Occupational Safety Scale for Hospital Health\rPersonnel" was used in the study. The scale is of 5\rlikert type and has 7 sub-dimensions. The data\robtained were analyzed using the SPSS 16.0 program.\rAs a result of the research, the participants\rreported positive opinions on some sub-dimensions of\rthe scale and negative opinions on some subdimensions. According to the results of the scale\rscored between 1 and 5, the overall average score of\rthe scale was found to be high (3,10). More attention\rshould be paid to the healthy and safe arrangement of\rworking conditions and environment for the subdimensions in which negative opinions were reported\rin line with the results.\rKeywords: Employee, Hospital, Occupational Health\rand Safety, Hazard, Risk.
