Investigation of Fractional Order Genesio-Tesi System Using Laplace Transformation

Bekiryazici, Zafer; Sengul, Suleyman; Merdan, Mehmet

In this paper the fractional-order Genesio-Tesi chaotic system is investigated with Laplace transformation method. Genesio-Tesi system is a three-dimensional equation system with quadratic nonlinearity and is frequently used for exemplifying chaotic systems. In this study, Caputo fractional derivative is used to obtain the fractional system and Laplace transformation is applied in order to analyze the explicit solutions of the system.

Analysis of a discrete time fractional-order Vallis system

    ŞİŞMAN, Şeyma; MERDAN, Mehmet

Vallis system is a model describing nonlinear interactions of the atmosphere and temperature fluctuations with a strong influence in the equatorial part of the Pacific Ocean. As the model approaches the fractional order from the integer order, numerical simulations for different situations arise. To see the behavior of the simulations, several cases involving integer analysis with different non-integer values of the Vallis systems were applied. In this work, a fractional mathematical model is constructed using the Caputo derivative. The local asymptotic stability of the equilibrium points of the fractional-order model is obtained from the fundamental production number. The chaotic behavior of this system is studied using the Caputo derivative and Lyapunov stability theory. Hopf bifurcation is used to vary the oscillation of the system in steady and unsteady states. In order to perform these numerical simulations, we apply Grünwald–Letnikov tactics with Binomial coefficients to obtain the effects on the non-integer fractional degree and discrete time vallis system and plot the phase diagrams and phase portraits with the help of MATLAB and MAPLE packages.

Merdan, Mehmet; Gökdogan, Ahmet; Yildirim, Ahmet; Mohyud-Din, Syed Tauseef

Purpose - In this article, the aim is to obtain an approximate analytical solution of time-fraction generalized Hirota-Satsuma coupled KDV with the help of the two dimensional differential transformation method (DTM). Exact solutions can also be obtained from the known forms of the series solutions. Design/methodology/approach - Two dimensional differential transformation method (DTM) is used. Findings - In this paper, the fractional differential transformation method is implemented to the solution of time-fraction generalized generalized Hirota-Satsuma coupled KDV with a number of initial and boundary values has been proved. DTM can be applied to many complicated linear and strongly nonlinear partial differential equations and does not require linearization, discretization, restrictive assumptions or perturbation. The presented method is a numerical method based on the generalised Taylor series expansion which constructs an analytical solution in the form of a polynomial. Originality/value - This is an original work in which the results indicate that the method is powerful and significant for solving time-fraction generalized generalized Hirota-Satsuma coupled KDV type differential equations.

Merdan, Mehmet; Yildirim, Ahmet; Gökdoǧan, Ahmet

Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to show how an application of fractional two dimensional differential transformation method (DTM) obtained approximate analytical solution of time-fraction modified equal width wave (MEW) equation. Design/methodology/approach - The fractional derivative is described in the Caputo sense. Findings - It is indicated that the solutions obtained by the two dimensional DTM are reliable and that this is an effective method for strongly nonlinear partial equations. Originality/value - The paper shows that exact solutions can also be obtained from the known forms of the series solutions.
