- MakaleAçık Erişim2026Financial Performance in Transportation and Warehousing Sector: A Comprehensive Study on BIST with LOPCOW, ARWEN and RAWEC Methods
Sahin Macit, Nazife
This study analyzes the financial performance of companies in the transportation and storagesector listed on BIST using LOPCOW, ARWEN, and RAWEC methods. The research focuses on 15 financial ratios and 11 companies based on 2023 data. LOPCOW was used to calculate the weights of the criteria, while ARWEN and RAWEC determined the financial performance values of the alternatives. When comparing the validity of these methods with RAPS, it was found that RAWEC produced consistent results, whereas ARWEN exhibited inconsistencies. Spearman correlation analysis indicated a correlation of -0.5455 between ARWEN and RAWEC and 0.8909 between RAWEC and RAPS.
- MakaleAçık Erişim2025An Integrated Evaluation of Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability in G20 Countries Using Advanced MCDM Methods
Sahin Macit, Nazife
This study analytically assesses the climate change and environmental sustainability performance of G20 countries using data from the 2024 Climate Change Performance Index (CCPI) and Environmental Performance Index (EPI) reports. The analysis employs Sum-Weighted Information (SWI) and Ranking Alternatives with Weights of Criterion (RAWEC), which are Logarithmic Decomposition of Criteria Importance (LODECI)-based multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods. The study created three separate decision matrices, taking into account the CCPI and EPI criteria individually, as well as their combination. The criterion weights were determined using the LODECI method; greenhouse gas emissions, climate policy, and air quality were the most significant criteria. The results show that China and Saudi Arabia demonstrate strong environmental performance in CCPI-based rankings, while Germany, the United Kingdom and France demonstrate strong performance in EPIbased evaluations. In the integrated analysis, Germany ranked first using both methods. The consistency of the rankings obtained using the SWI and RAWEC methods was high, which supports the reliability of the analyses. However, some differences in ranking were observed depending on the method used, the distribution of criteria and the country sample. Overall, the study emphasizes the pivotal role of methodological diversity and data-driven approaches in multidimensional environmental assessments for policy-making, while demonstrating the robustness of the findings through sensitivity and comparative analyses.
- MakaleAçık Erişim2024MEASURING THE ICT DEVELOPMENT LEVEL IN EUROPEAN AND CENTRAL ASIAN COUNTRIES USING THE INTEGRATED MPSI-RAPS METHOD
Sahin Macit, Nazife
This study was carried out to provide basic information for future policies and strategies by objectively considering the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) development levels of 14 countries selected for Europe and Central Asia with the MPSI-RAPS integrated method, based on the 10 indicators included in the 2023 ICT development index report. The weight values of indicators considered as criteria were determined by the MPSI method; The RAPS method was used to determine and compare the development levels of countries according to criteria. As a result of the analysis, the most important criterion is fixed broadband internet basket price (% GNP/k.); It turns out that the most important criterion is the population (%) covered by at least 3G mobile network. While Austria ranked highest in ICT development level, Azerbaijan was determined as the country with the lowest level. Additionally, it was revealed as a result of the Spearman Rho Correlation test that there is a significant and strong positive relationship between the rankings obtained by the MPSI-RAPS integrated method analysis and the rankings in the ICT (Information Technologies) development index report. This finding showed that the MPSIRAPS integrated method can be used to evaluate the ICT development levels of countries.
