Today, budget balance has became one of the most highly regarded issues by scientists and politicians.For this reason a number of studies have been carried out in the literature on the causes of the deviation of the budget balance.The causes of deviations in the budget balance have also been the subject of many studies. In this study, the effect of the energy balance on the budget balance was investigated. It was investigated by panel data analysis method byusing the annual data of 34 OECD member countries between 2003 and 2013. The empirical findings of the study show that the energy imports has had a detrimental effect on the budget balance.
