Cıranoğlu, Mehmet; Cakir, Mehmet Ali
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the emotional intelligence levels of finance sector employees and their fear of missing out. Design/Methodology: Data were collected from 397 employees working in the finance sector in Turkey through an online survey using snowball sampling. The data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) with SPSS and AMOS. Findings: The analysis results indicated a significant and positive relationship between the emotional intelligence levels of finance sector employees and their fear of missing out (β = 0.72; z = 6.063; p < 0.01). This result suggests that as employees’ emotional intelligence levels increase, their levels of fear of missing out also increase. Limitations: Although many sectors have finance departments and, consequently, finance employees, the fact that the sample consisted solely of employees working in the finance sector (banking and auditing) can be considered a limitation of the study. Originality/Value: The financial sector, characterized by intense competition, rapid information flow, and high levels of stress, challenges employees’ psychological resilience as well as their professional capabilities. This study aims to contribute to the literature by addressing an important gap and providing guidance for practices that may support the psychological well-being of employees in the financial sector.
