- MakaleAçık Erişim2018The Effect of the Online News on Tourism
Ayyildiz, Hasan; Dişli Bayraktar, Eda; Kutlu, Didem
Due to the technological developments, people are able to quickly reach the information and the news about destinations where they have planned to go on their holidays. Online news websites are important and reliable tools which deliver up-to-date information about a destination to broad masses. It is indisputable that the media is a significant influence on public awareness, tourist purchase decision, destination image and tourist behavior. A tourist who chooses a holiday destination decides among countless destinations according to the information he receives from various sources. Therefore, in this study, the news in the two foreign online news sites are interpreted according to the touristic arrival statistics from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The two countries to be included in the study, Germany and England, were selected among the countries that sent the most tourists to Turkey. In these countries, news web sites with the highest number of daily visitors were determined and the news related to Turkey in the 7 years period between 2010 and 2016 were analyzed by content analysis.
- MakaleYalnız künye2017An investigation on the possible effects of horizontal individuality and/or normative compatibility in the relationship between fear of negative evaluation and impulsive-compulsive buying behaviour
Ayyildiz, Hasan; Yetim, Ferda; Akyüz, Ahmet Mutlu
Impulsive-Compulsive Buying Behaviour (ICB) affects people from all social levels of community today. Studies show that there is a relationship between psychiatric disorders and this behaviour. One reason causing depression in individuals is the Fear of Negative Evaluation (FNE) (individuals’ social concerns). In this study, it is studied to determine with the test of the developed research model that whether Horizontal Individuality (HI) and/or Normative Compatibility (NC) variables play an “intervening effect” on the relationship between FNE and ICB behaviour. In this regard, data were collected from 102 academics who have been working either in Karadeniz Technical University or Gumushane University by the method of simple random sampling. Structural Equation Modelling was used for the test of the research model. As a result of the analysis, it is understood that there is not a direct effect between ICB and FNE, but it is demonstrated that there is a significant indirect effect (intervening effect) over the NC variable

Ayyildiz, Hasan; Akmermer, Bilgen; Akyüz, Ahmet Mutlu
All marketing definitions focus on the same point: customer orientation and the satisfaction of customer needs. Within this framework, although marketing approach in most of studies primarily deal with institutions and enterprises in profit/private sector, it has become crucial for all kind of organizations including non-profit ones. In recent years, many non-profits have grown larger and continue to improve their growth and effectiveness. In this sense, marketing is touchstone of developing non-profits. - Kitap BölümüYalnız künye2014Electronic word-of-mouth: Factors affecting consumer review writing behavior on electronic platforms
Yildiz, Emel; Ayyildiz, Hasan
This chapter examines the effects of word-of-mouth motivations and culture on electronic word-of-mouth behavior. This chapter also focuses on the effects of cultural values on electronic word-of-mouth behavior. Within the context of the study, online forums in which consumers write comments have been used. The data was obtained from an electronic survey provided to 561 consumers. The reliability of scales has been tested via the Cronbach's Alfa Method and the validity of scales has been tested by Factor Analysis. After determining the reliability and validity of the scales, research hypotheses were tested by Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and Multiple Regression Analysis. The findings show that motivation and culture have positive effects on electronic word-of-mouth behavior. This chapter also attempts to explain the effects of cultural values on electronic word-of-mouth behavior, and it is found that while uncertainty avodiance and masculinity have positive effects, individualism and power distance have negative effects on electronic word-of-mouth behavior.

Ayyildiz, Hasan; Akyüz, Ahmet Mutlu
This study investigated the factors that are thought to be affect patient satisfaction in the health service organizations in Trabzon city within the framework of patient satisfaction in health services. The proposed hypotheses were tested under a structural equation model (SEM). The sample population for the study are the individuals who have already hospitalized and discharged from Trabzon City hospitals andaccepted to represent their observations about health-care services. A draft questionnaire was developed to measure the factors in the model. All items under the factors were measured on a five-point Likert scale. Questionnaires were asked to adults who are over the age of 18 during face-to-face interviews. Data collection was carried out from January to March 2010 and 400 completed surveys were collected with a response rate of 89.5 percent. The Amos software package was used to perform the SEM and it was successfully performed. From the results of tested hypotheses, it was understood that patient satisfaction in the health service organizations in Trabzon city are respectively affected by managerial services, attention and politeness, cleanliness and hygiene, hospital informing services both directly and indirectly.
