Some Applications on Spherical Indicatrices of the Helix Curve

    Şenyurt, Süleyman; Mazlum, Sümeyye Gür

In this study, the Frenet elements of the curves that are drawn on the unit sphere by the unit vectors obtained from linear combinations of Frenet vectors of the helix curve are calculated. Moreover, Sabban frames of these curves are created and Smarandache curves are defined. Finally, the geodesic curvatures of each Smarandache curve are calculated.

ANOTHER APPLICATION OF SMARANDACHE BASED RULED SURFACES WITH THE DARBOUX VECTOR ACCORDING TO FRENET FRAME IN E3

Şenyurt, Süleyman; Canli, Davut; Çan, Elif; Mazlum, Sümeyye Gür

In this study, we first define the Smarandache curves derived from the Frenet vectors and the Darboux vector of any curve. Then, we construct new ruled surfaces along these Smarandache curves with the direction vectors obtained from the Frenet vectors and the Darboux vector, and give the equations of these surfaces. In addition, we calculate the Gaussian and mean curvatures of these surfaces separately and present the conditions to be minimal and developable for these surfaces. Finally, as an example, we obtain ruled surfaces whose base curves are Viviani’s curves and plot the graphics of these surfaces.

The Invariants of Dual Parallel Equidistant Ruled Surfaces

Gür Mazlum, Sümeyye; Şenyurt, Süleyman; Grilli, Luca

In this paper, we calculate the Gaussian curvatures of the dual spherical indicatrix curves formed on unit dual sphere by the Blaschke vectors and dual instantaneous Pfaff vectors of dual parallel equidistant ruled surfaces (DPERS) and we give the relationships between these curvatures. In addition to—in cases where the base curves of these DPERS are closed—computing the dual integral invariants of the indicatrix curves. Additionally, we show the relationships between them. Finally, we provide an example for each of these indicatrix curves.

Salkowski Curves and Their Modified Orthogonal Frames in 𝔼³

Şenyurt, Süleyman; Bektaş, Mehmet; Mazlum, Sümeyye Gür

In this study, we examine some properties of Salkowski curves in 𝔼³. We then make sense of the angle $(nt)$ in the parametric equation of the Salkowski curves. We provide the relationship between this angle and the angle between the binormal vector and the Darboux vector of the Salkowski curves. Through this angle, we obtain the unit vector in the direction of the Darboux vector of the curve. Finally, we calculate the modified orthogonal frames with both the curvature and the torsion and give the relationships between the Frenet frame and the modified orthogonal frames of the curve.

The Dual Expression of Parallel Equidistant Ruled Surfaces in Euclidean 3-Space

Gür Mazlum, Sümeyye; Şenyurt, Süleyman; Grilli, Luca

In this study, we examine the dual expression of Valeontis’ concept of parallel p-equidistant ruled surfaces well known in Euclidean 3-space, according to the Study mapping. Furthermore, we show that the dual part of the dual angle on the unit dual sphere corresponds to the p-distance. We call these ruled surfaces we obtained “dual parallel equidistant ruled surfaces” and we briefly denote them with “DPERS”. Furthermore, we find the Blaschke vectors, the Blaschke invariants and the striction curves of these DPERS and we give the relationships between these elements. Moreover, we show the relationships between the Darboux screws, the instantaneous screw axes, the instantaneous dual Pfaff vectors and dual Steiner rotation vectors of these surfaces. Finally, we give an example, which we reinforce this article, and we explain all of these features with the figures on the example. Furthermore, we see that the corresponding dual curves on the dual unit sphere to these DPERS are such that one of them is symmetric with respect to the imaginary symmetry axis of the other.
