Sideritis libanotica Labill. subsp. libanotica (SLL) is an herbal tea used for colds, coughs, and digestive system disorders. SLL has higher antioxidant activity in methods (µg/mL) like 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH•) (40.912 ± 0.170), ABTS•+ (14.61 ± 0.331) scavenging activity, and Fe3+ (0.872 ± 0.052) and Cu2+ (0.840 ± 0.013) reduction capacity compared to other Sideritis species. It is rich in essential minerals, such as Ca, Mg, and P, with the highest content of mineral K (14 203.97 mg/kg). Zone values in the range of 9–11 mm were obtained from Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Pseudomonas putida, and Klebsiella pneumoniae strains, which is an indicator that the plant has antibacterial activity. Among 33 secondary metabolites, sinapinic acid, rutin, and hispidulin have high values, whereas the one with the highest value is verbascoside (274 483 mg/kg), a pharmacologically active compound. It showed an inhibitory effect (mg/mL) on some enzymes targeting neurodegenerative and metabolic disorders. (IC50; acetylcholinesterase [AChE]: 0.065, butyrylcholinesterase [BChE]: 0.086, α-glucosidase: 0.014).

Terminalia citrina (T. citrina) belongs to the Combretaceae family and is included in the class of medicinal plants in tropical countries such as Bangladesh, Myanmar, and India. The antioxidant activities of lyophilized water (WTE) and alcohol extracts (ETE) of T. citrina fruits, their phenolic content by LC-HRMS, and their effects on cholinesterases (ChEs; AChE, acetylcholinesterase, and BChE, butyrylcholinesterase) were investigated. Especially ten different analytical methods were applied to determine the antioxidant capacity. Compared with similar studies for natural products in the literature, it was determined that both WTE and ETE exhibited strong antioxidant capacity. Syringe and ellagic acids were higher than other acids in ETE and WTE. IC50 values for ETE and WTE in DPPH radical and ABTS⋅+ scavenging activities were calculated as 1.69–1.68 μg mL−1 and 6.79–5.78 μg mL−1, respectively. The results of the biological investigations showed that ETE and WTE had an inhibition effect against ChEs, with IC50 values of 94.87 and 130.90 mg mL−1 for AChE and 262.55 and 279.70 mg mL−1 for BChE, respectively. These findings indicate that with the prominence of herbal treatments, T. citrina plant may guide the literature in treating Alzheimer's Disease, preventing oxidative damage, and mitochondrial dysfunction.

Endemic Sideritis dichotoma Huter, herbal tea, is used for colds, coughs and digestive ailments. Since at least 25 % of the active ingredients of pharmacological drugs are obtained from plants, it is important to investigate many plants, both traditionally used and whose potential hasnt yet been discovered, before they disappear. When the results compared to other Sideritis species, it has better antioxidant activity in DPPH⋅ scavenging activity, Fe3+ and Cu2+ reducing capacity methods and is also rich in minerals, necessary for human body, K, Mg, Ca, P, S. Zone values (10–19,5 mm) obtained on S. aureus, P. aeruginosa, E. coli, S.enteritidis, E. faecalis, P. putida and K. pnemoniae strains are an indication that the plant has antibacterial activity. 27 secondary metabolites were identified by LC-HRMS. Verbascoside, pharmacologically active compound known to have antitumor effect, cytotoxic selectivity and anticancer activity, is the most abundant phenolic in ethanol extract (49297.13 mg/kg).
