Ahmed Ziyaüddin Gümüşhanevî, who lived in the 19th century, is one of the major Sufis. In this paper, we try to examine his views on knowing God’s existence. According to the divine religions, it is possible for human being to know God’s existence; because such an ability has been given to him by in his creation. Because of the fact that, getting the knowledge God’s existence has a great importance in the thought of philosophers, theologians and Sufis, as well, they claim that God can be known either by reason, sense-data or by intuition and try to explain how it is so. Gümüşhanevî holds that reason can acquire the knowledge of God’s existence by using the signs in universe. But, for him only reason can’t get that knowledge properly. God can be known by the help of heart, which is called sixth sense, in a proper sense.

Bu çalışmada, Bedreddîn ez-Zerkeşî ve Kuran ilimle ri alanında başyapıt olan eseri el-Burhan fî Ulûmil- Kuran hakkında özet bilgi sunulduktan sonra, el- Burhan da yer alan kaynakların tespitine yer verilmiştir. Daha sonra bu kaynakların genel bir değerlendirilmesi ve kritiği yapılmak sur etiyleel-Burhanın kaynak değeri ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. El-Burhan fî Ulûmil-Kuran ,ın kaynaklarına genel olarak bakıldığında, Kuran ilimleri ile ilgili olu şmuş olan tarihsel malumat alanı nak- ledildikten sonra, Arap dilinin mantığı içerisinde kalınarak, dilbilimsel bir yönteme hizmet edecek şekilde kullanıldığı gözükmektedir. E serinin büyük bir bölümünü bu yöntemin uygulanmasına ayıran ez-Zerkeşî, bir yandan Kuran ilimlerine dair tarihsel malzemeyi bir araya getirirken, diğer yandan da, es erinin telif gayesiyle de örtüşen, Kuran dilinin kendine özgü kullanımını ifade eden üslûbuna dikkat çekecek malze- meyi özenle kullanmıştır.

The relationship between God and universe and the issue of whether God contains universe is one of the important problems of philosophy of religion. We see by various philosophers tried to explain the establishment of various philosophical systems how relationship between infinite being with a finite entity when we examine the history ofthought. One ofthese systems is pantheism, which is based on the principle of the identity of being. The same way in the Islamic Sufi tradition doctrine of the wahdat-i wujud, that unity of being founded on the basis is one of the explanations brought the God-universe relationship. These two doctrines is a controversial subject utterance the same doctrine whether the two systems.

The first Islamic philosopher al-Kindi (Alchindus) is also the first thinker interested in nous problem in Islamic Philosophy. Whether the source of his nous theory is; it is the idea of him or not, is a disputable subject. We determined that al-Kindi developed ideas peculiar to himself in his nous theory in addition to benefiting from the most important theorists Aristoteles and Alexander of Aphrodisias before him. From this point of view, we can define al-Kindi as the first Islamic philosopher who put forward his nous theory in a way peculiar to himself by paying great attention to Aristotelian tradition.
