Merdan, Mehmet; Şişman, Şeyma
In this article, diabetes, a disease known to be influenced by genetic and environmental factors, is divided into two types: diabetes without complications (D) and diabetes with complications (C). The stability of the equilibrium points of this two-dimensional diabetes complication (DC) model, the D and C equations are studied by time delay. In addition, the behavior of the model is obtained with the help of the MATLAB package program.
- MakaleAçık Erişim2024Investigation of solution behavior of Differential Equations by Sumudu methods of random complex Partial Differential Equations
Merdan, Mehmet; Merdan, Merve; Şahin, Rıdvan
In this study, solutions of random complex partial differential equations were found using the two-dimensional Sumudu transformation method(STM). The initial conditions of a deterministic equation or the non-homogeneous part of the equation are transformed into random variables to obtain a random complex partial differential equation. With the help of the properties of two-dimensional Sumudu and inverse Sumudu transformation, an approximate analytical solution of a complex partial differential equation with random constant coefficients was obtained by selecting a random variable with an initial condition of Normal and Gamma distribution. The probability characteristics of the resulting solutions, such as expected value and variance, were obtained and graphically shown with the help of the Maple package program.

- MakaleAçık Erişim2022A Mathematical Model of Susceptible Diabetes Complication (SDC) Model in Discrete Time Fuzzy and Crisp Environment
Merdan, Mehmet; Şişman, Şeyma
In this study, we examined the mathematical model of the discrete-time equation system with susceptible diabetes complication (SDC), which is known to be caused by environmental and genetic factors in a fuzzy environment. From the diabetes complication (DC) model, the susceptible diabetes complication (SDC) model is being developed. It was obtained using definitions of how the behavior of this model changes in a fuzzy environment. A nonlinear differential equation system transforms the sensitive diabetes complication (SDC) model into a discrete time equation system. Stability analysis of the model with jury criterion was examined. In addition, numerical solutions and graphics of the analysis of the discrete model in fuzzy environment are obtained by using the MATLAB package program.
- MakaleAçık Erişim2020Can an abts antioxidant test be performed without a spectrophotometer?
Burnaz, Nesibe Arslan; Akar, Zeynep
ABTS• + (2,2-azinobis- (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid)) radical scavenging assay iswidely used to determine the antioxidant activity of natural and synthetic substances. As otherantioxidant activity determination methods, a spectrophotometer device is needed to determinethe numerical value of the color formed in ABTS method. Therefore, the dependence on thedevice is disadvantageous due to especially the high cost and restriction of workspace. Toovercome this disadvantage, a new colorimetric method in the determination of antioxidantactivity for ABTS method was developed with the help of a scanner device and free software(Image J). Mixtures (plant extracts and antioxidant standards) in this new colorimetric methodwere prepared as in the spectrophotometric method and, after the incubation period, each ofthese reagent mixtures was dropped onto the thin layer chromatography (TLC) plate. Then thecolors that appeared on the thin layer chromatography were transferred to the computer withthe help of a scanner and CSC50 values (the color value of the antioxidant concentrationrequired to scavenge 50% of the ABTS radical in the test solution using Image J software)were measured with free software of Image J. The same measurements were performedsimultaneously on the spectrophotometer. The results of both methods were compared. Therewas a strong correlation between the new colorimetric method and the spectrophotometricmethod for ABTS. Thus, the new colorimetric method for the ABTS test has become easilyapplicable since no spectrophotometer device is needed and in all environments.

- MakaleAçık Erişim2018Antidiabetic Potential: Effect of Resorcinol on α-Glycosidase and α-Amylase Enzymes
Topal, Fevzi
The vast majority of the carbohydrates in the biomolecule class are formed by photosynthesis using sunlight. One of the important enzymes in this class is α-glycosidase. This enzyme converts complex carbohydrates to monosaccharides. On the other hand, another important enzyme species is the α-amylase enzyme. Which directly related to starch. Starch is a type of polymer formed by the oxygen binding of glucose units to each other at the C1 position with glycosidic bonds. α-Amylase is an enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of glycosidic bonds in starch, and this enzyme is purified from a wide variety of animals, plants, and microorganisms. Resorcinol, a phenol derivative, is an important organic chemical substance in the production of textile, medicine, hair dye, plastic and agricultural products of many industrial materials. Resorcinol, a phenol derivative, is present as white crystals, and resorcinol consists of two hydroxyl molecules attached to the benzene ring, and also was defined as α-glycosidase and α-amylase inhibitor to detect antidiabetic properties. Resorcinol was used as 𝛼-glycosidase and 𝛼-amylase inhibitor. Accordingly, IC50 values of α-amylase and α-glycosidase were calculated as 1.34 μM and 77.00 nM, respectively. On the other hand, Ki value for α-glycosidase was found as 30.16 nM. It has been observed that α-amylase and α-glycosidase enzymes can inhibit by resorcinol compound. It has the properties of inhibiting carbohydrate absorption by inhibiting α-glycosidase enzymes in the small intestine. For both metabolic enzymes, resorcinol may be preferred as an inhibitor. In this case, resorcinol may be used as an inhibitor against to healty problems like Diabetes mellitus and antiobesity.
