Müfessirin söz konusu alanla ilgili birikimlerini ve fikirlerini fiiliyata döktüğü 'Hayat Kaynağı Kur'an Tefsiri" adlı eseri hem bu açıdan hem de çağdaş dönemde yazılan bir tefsir olması açısından öneme haizdir. Bu doğrultuda Şimşek'in söz konusu tefsirinde aile hayatına ilişkin ayetlere yapılan tefsirlerin değerlendirmesi ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır.
