However, in this context, it is very important to study the authenticity of the punishment related narrations that expressed among the public concerning the state of the one who abandons prayer. The punishments that are expressed to frighten people, even though, have an intention to guide them to pray must be based on the Qur'an or the Sahih Sunnah. Otherwise, this situation brings with it some big problems such as deciding on behalf of Allah (c.c.) or lying on behalf of the prophet (pbuh). In addition to this, expressing such punishments may have a negative effect on people, on the contrary to the expected positive effect and can cause them to even move away further from prayer. For that reason, this research aims to examine the source reliability of the narrations which indicating the amount of punishment expressed in certain numbers, such as the punishment for leaving one daily prayer is to burn in the hellfire for eighty years. Thus, it will be tried to determine the unfounded narrations in this regard that should not be respected. Also, another purpose of this research is identifying other narrations that are in the main hadith sources about the status of those who abandoned prayer at a time and conveying the authentic information on this subject to people. Finally, both matters are considered to be extremely important.</dc:description><dc:date>2020</dc:date><dc:type>Article</dc:type><dc:identifier>https://rdlopen.rawdatalibrary.net/r/gumushane/17668</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>https://doi.org/10.30523/mutefekkir.757986</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>2148-5631</dc:identifier><dc:language>tr</dc:language><dc:relation>Mütefekkir</dc:relation><dc:rights>info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess</dc:rights><dc:type>info:eu-repo/semantics/article</dc:type><dc:identifier>https://gumushane-rdlopen.rawdatalibrary.net/tr/items/gumushane/17668</dc:identifier></oai_dc:dc></metadata></record></GetRecord></OAI-PMH>
