Our findings indicate that compulsory schooling may increase upward educational mobility where women attend education levels higher than their parents, particularly mothers. Additionally, we find such effects not only for the level at which schooling became compulsory but also at higher levels, showing a magnification of the initial impact.</dc:description><dc:publisher>Routledge</dc:publisher><dc:date>2026</dc:date><dc:type>Article</dc:type><dc:identifier>https://rdlopen.rawdatalibrary.net/r/gumushane/14213</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>https://doi.org/10.1080/00036846.2025.2607064</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>0003-6846</dc:identifier><dc:language>en</dc:language><dc:relation>Applied Economics</dc:relation><dc:rights>info:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccess</dc:rights><dc:type>info:eu-repo/semantics/article</dc:type><dc:identifier>https://gumushane-rdlopen.rawdatalibrary.net/tr/items/gumushane/14213</dc:identifier></oai_dc:dc></metadata></record></GetRecord></OAI-PMH>
